They may, eventually, and they'll be welcome. While it's fresh, though, it helps repel snails, slugs and grasshoppers.
    Not cats, unfortunately.

That sounds a lot techier than my garden. I've only just installed a directional sprinkler ($2 yard sale works great) Mostly, I just swear at 'em. They stop, freeze, stare, then continue digging. I swear at the raccoon that raids the bird-feeders. Same reaction. I'm beginning to think I need to learn more swear words.

electrically operated water supplys can be a bit of a nuisance for electrocution.
notice those new fancy schmancy water mixer taps that have a touch button on the top ...
simply putting white pepper in the header would probably teach any dogs or cats to not come back to shit in your garden.

carnivors diseases into the vegetarian human food chain is not very good.
    potentially lethal

Whaaa? Why would you mix electricity with water?
OTH, why would you put natural gas in the water?
See, I have this hose screwed on to a tap in the greenhouse and a sprinkler screwed on to the other end of the hose, and I put the sprinkler down, pointing at the peas and come in and turn on the tap and the water sprays all over the peas, onions, strawberries, fence and firewood. Half an hour later, I come back to move the sprinkler, having forgotten to turn off the tap first and I know the water will spray all over me but it's easier to change my clothes than go all the way inside to turn off the tap, come back out to move the hose and go back in to turn on the tap.
    told you: lo-tek

Like the N****e yelled falling past the 16th floor window, "Okay so far!"

just occurred to me it may be illegal to have an electrical flow control on a mains connected pipe.
forget to change the battery of your 5 dollar Chinese sprinkler and it shorts out while your on holiday using 2000 litres of water before the local govt shuts down your water killing your prize gold fish resulting in a multi million dollar law suite against a Chinese exporter sole operator middleman in china with no legal recourse.

$10,000.00 dollar fine from the local government including fees
dead $3,000.00 breeding goldfish you planned to pay for part of your retirement
kicked in front fence by the local government trying to find the leak and a hole the size of a swimming pool from a digger they used to check the main line inside your property, which has now been deemed a safety risk and your getting fined daily by the local government and face arrest for public endangerment and failure to pay government fines...

that's globalism at its finest when all you did was buy a $5 plastic electric water sprinkler to save time and water.

and the hole the water peopel dug in your front lawn is filling with water so the local govt are going to fence it for you for comp0laince at $500.00 a meter, but will need to knock the front wall of your living room down to get the digger in to dig the post holes.

and you get email notice on your flight home that is started 3 days ago after spending 10 hours on a flight stuck next to a Chinese businessman complaining the entire time about how difficult it is to do business with the usa.

inner conflict/confusion/emotional fatigue is often externalized into an entity to create a basis at which to attack or fight back
this is not always helpful as the manifestation of the inner conflict becomes a secondary conflict which then puts a war on top of a war
layers of confusion all fighting one another.

Freedom is not a lack of caring
