Went to meet some friends for dinner earlier, at a restaurant near an outdoor mall. Walked around for a bit, and stumbled into a shop named The Bodhi Tree. This store features crystals, necklaces, books and other items that are ''perfect for spiritual masters and those who are seeking.'' Hmm. They had something called a ''ritual box,'' and ''ceremonial candles,'' to assist with your spiritual activities. Had an earthy, pantheist vibe to it, definitely piqued my interest. The Bodhi tree is a fig tree native to India and Southeast Asia, regarded as sacred by Buddhists.
lots of metal ore can cause earthly feelings or highly anti-static field generally mall ambience is designed to remove clocks, time & add a light careless attitude to help activate impulse spending. having a poor balance between a de-focusing mall & a neutralizing field 'shop' can leave people feeling a bit 'worked-over' resulting in them being less likely to spend money and feel more manipulated. specially if there is overt animalism right beside the shop(like people eating meat or animal skins etc...)
I'm proud of myself for not caving into purchasing anything, but I hear ya. I have a friend who is into Wicca, and her beliefs are interesting. It's all about nature and balance, but there are many who get into the witchcraft side of it.

I don't know how I would get though life's down points without my crystals and their associated chakras. It's all so spiritual! Tinfoil hats are good to use outdoors for keeping the sun off and have the added benefit (Pascal's Wager) that if they don't work, what does it harm, and if they do work...nirvana!

I agree about that placebo effect. Whole Foods even got into it for a while, not sure if they're still pushing their woo/crystals section. Superstitious beliefs. They can be quite powerful, for many.
