Just pointing out that aliens, if they really are advanced over us, would have standards.

I used to watch Celebrity Ghost Stories all the time. What impressed me was the credibility and emotion behind their accounts. And this is not the kind of celebrity they would be looking for. Nobody wants to be known as the weirdo who saw a ghost. The fact that they still come forward in spite of that is further proof of their authenticity and courage to speak the truth.

Exactly, I feel the same. I think they have more to lose by coming forward to share these stories than the average Joe who is looking for his 15 minutes of fame. These celebs already have fame so they come across as authentic. Of course they could be lying but seems like a weird thing to lie about.

Makes me wonder: Do "ghosts" have to keep the appearance they had when they were alive?

Sightings of very tall shadow figures are not uncommon. Whether they are ghosts or some other entity is open to speculation. But they are known to provoke abject terror when seen. I have an eyewitness account of an 8 ft shadow figure I could post, but I'm afraid James R would ban me forever for it. He has to censor ghost accounts from his own ghost forum which he set up. Makes alot of sense doesn't it?

Was there something about the ghost that you recall, that was scary in appearance? Its height and dark silhouette sounds ominous, but I wonder if we are scared of ghosts, just out of principle lol and maybe many of them are friendly spirits.

Edit to add, you were six years old, so that could have played into the fear factor!

When i first saw it i was lookin at it about waste high... an then i looked higher an saw that it was as tall as the celin... so its size alone was the scariest part... it had a very stocky lumpy build... it was bent forward slightly... its arms were slightly lifted an slightly forward... it stayed put but the whole thang seemed to have an internal swirlin motion... no features other than a general human-like frame... an ther was nuthin aggressive about it... an my total time lookin at it was about 2 seconds.!!!

I dont know nuthin about no ghosts/spirits... the above is just what i saw when i was 6... but if i saw that in my kitchen at 70... i thank i woud take a step back an be ready for battle.!!!

It definitely left an imprint on your life. There's something known as ''shadow people.'' Have you heard of this?

Many investigations into haunted locations have shown that shadow people generally have a terrifying effect on eyewitnesses. I speculate that the entity in question has the power to telepathical impose fear on humans, leaving them a terrified and helpless witness to something they can't define. It's the only explanation that makes any sense. I mean the manifestation of a shadow person doesn't innately suggest anything like danger does it?

Most accounts of ''shadow people'' are that they draw people into darkness, and bring forth negative energy. (like a negative aura) The creepy thing about ''shadow people'' is that your mind may be playing tricks on you, if you've had a few sleepless nights, for example. If you actually did visualize a ''shadow person'' or if it's figment of your imagination, one thing is for certain_all that will be left is fear. I'm open minded but I don't believe every person who claims to have encounters with ghosts, or sightings of UFO's. I was thinking that these situations can be testable though. If we took a random group of 100 people, and asked each person, individually, to spend one week in an alleged haunted house, and 90% of them came out claiming to have experience paranormal activity of some type, that would be convincing ''evidence.'' The trouble is, no one bothers to do these types of experiments. The key to such an experiment, would be to not tell the participants of the study, that they were staying in a haunted house. It's important to have a pure test that wouldn't be tainted with bias and premeditated fears.

Were they on TV? There you go.

"There's no such thing as bad publicity."*

*actually not strictly true in this day of unfettered media access. But in controlled media, such as TV, yes - there's no such thing as bad publicity.
