    From one gnostic to another:
When I lived in Chicago: I was waling home one night when I saw 2 cops and a neighborhood teenaged boy in an ally. They had the youth down on the pavement and one cop had his foot on the young man;s neck so I stopped and watched. One of the cops barked at me "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!". I said, "Nothing, just being a witness". Whereupon, they threw the kid into the back of their squad car and drove off.....................................

Speaking truth to power can be exasperating.

scam artists and con-men(&women) never want the masses who they fool to know the truth.
    it sets a bad president.
any system that gives absolute law to the word of mouth of a single leader, or asserts blind belief to a group is a scam and will always fight against truth to assert their own lies as facts.
bullying is the standard social dynamic
so all interaction with leadership/power if it is not kissing their ass, then it will be met by bullying.
be that bullying from those sucking up to them or bullying from others who have been told to bully anyone the dictator/power doesn't like.

speaking truth to power makes you the enemy of the largest bully group.

the modern peoples christian church has been a collective community voice for social order & balance of power & human rights.

boom n bust economy ideology promotes greed & gluttony as corner stones of reasons for non equality

climate change and the aging baby-boomers getting more worried about their failing ability to physically defend themselves in an environment they feel is just as dangerous or more dangerous(in reality far less dangerous when you normalise the amount of travel they have over borders and into other towns and citys & the ability of evil to travel cheaply and far) is resulting in a general mental condition of the majority aging population to become more paranoid.

additionally, aging people in positions of power with failing mental ability make comments that are detached from functional value truths.

while previously a person in power might have said nothing, now they give their personal opinion on something that is a aspect of opinionated interpretation.
the masses take this as a statement of power and authority.
this is divisive and pushes greater extremism.

some might say the age of diplomacy has been usurped by the cult of personalities.
.you see this being pandered to by alt-right click bait propaganda people using cold war era language to try and divide people to gain control over them while pandering to paranoia. that is one reason why the conspiracy news channels have gained soo much more following. because they are whipping up and playing off peoples fears and marketing to those fears.
like using advanced sales psychology on intellectually disabled people to sell them an endless supply of vacuum-cleaners that dont really work properly.
intellectually & morally it is corrupt based on most peoples morals.
but greed is used as a free pass to say greed = money = morality(yes it doesn't actually make sense logically but that is how cult programming works).
