I remember reading a book in the library years ago that was titled Business Cycles. It was a study of the natural fluctuation of an economy that moves up and down over time. I've witnessed several over the years. The economy is either hot or cold, moving up and down like a roller coaster. We appear to be in an upswing at this time, but I'm wondering how long that will last. We appear to be in a period of growth now. I haven't been following the markets, so I don't know what to make of them. https://www.thebalance.com/what-is-the-business-cycle-3305912
Sometimes I'm hungry, sometimes I'm tired, sometimes I want some entertainment but these things change over time and I'm not sure where I am at the moment...I might be hungry.
I'm eating a Snicker's Ice Cream Bar at the moment. They are as addictive as is tobacco. I buy the 12 pack box once a week.
There are several, and conflicting, approaches to the cyclical behavior of an industrial capitalist economy with compound interest lending. Most of them include suggestions or insights into how to prevent it from amplifying into a boom and bust cycle, which is destructive - that is normally the motive for studying the topic. I'm afraid the cycle has been broken and is now an exponentially curved line upward, with no end in sight except for higher taxation! Does everyone know that our current interest payments on the National Debt is 1.43 BILLION dollars PER DAY? This money will be charged to tax payers. I did not consent to that. I finally pay off my personal debts and here comes Trump and puts me back in debt and I can't do anything about it.
