really? so pollyanna nah. something is really wrong with this universe. something very, very wrong as there is so suffering and depravity and evil. these things should not be allowed to happen. even more befuddling is the urge for those who want to do harm. where does evil come from? why is it that way? things like this should never happen in any universe. that's what disturbs me the most. i would like to think it's all just a bad dream but it's not.

i say that cat or anyone should not have had to endure being burned alive by a blowtorch. do you disagree? i say that urge to harm, cause pain and damage is wrong. all things natural doesn't mean it's good or even right. you miss that part. your stand is empty and meaningless. no different than saying the sky is blue. no fuk. it doesn't make everything under the sun that occurs right either.
I don't disagree BUT YOU seem to be missing the point in that EVERYTHING is natural AND neutral (that's the point) and wrong, good or even right are arbitrary Post 120 stands Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

I don't think Stephen Fry posed the question correctly. He asks, "What colour was the sky in Ancient Greece?" Then he goes on to correct Joe Brand who said it was blue. The simple truth is that irrespective of whether or not the Ancient Greeks had a word for the colour blue it was still blue and NOT bronze. In order for the question to make sense he should have asked, "What colour did the ancient greeks use to describe the sky?" http://old.qi.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=17774&start=0&sid=0a63307b3ee6c8091298c6ec5dddb330
I agree. Nor should they have to endure being tortured by coyotes for hours before being killed and eaten. Rats should not have to endure being dismembered while still alive by hawks. People should not have to endure being eaten from the inside out by parasites. But still, those things happen. And most of them do not come from human actions.
Hell... mayb it is just a bad dream... or mayb monsters do exist an one of 'em created us to suffer this existance. Ether way it is what it is. I dont blame "horrible humans"... we are all just victims of circumstance. I dont blame Gods sinse i dont have beliefs in gods. I just accept that i dont have the answrs an prolly never will. I prefer that over tryin to make myself beleive in Bull-Sht. An i can understand the discontent of those who do unjustly blame humans or superstitious thangs like "Gods". We are all unique... some will suffer much mor than others an sooner or later all will die.!!!
Humans are very selfish creatures and we treat each other poorly many times. That is why many times I get the feeling that the world would have been a better place if some humans never existed.
Could be true depending on the depth of the deplorability But as everyone one has a purpose you could say They allow us to be superior to them Serve as how we should not behave by Showing as a bad example Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
queue the philisophical discussion of religous integrity Good Vs Evil can i be good if there is no bad to compare myself to
No Good cannot exist in isolation You can have a short scale (say ruler style) with a few marks indicating the divisions between good one at one end and bad at the other And you can make as many divisions as you wish but might find trouble naming them Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
thus "good" is the paraphrase of the eternal narcissist ? subjective "good" relys on the self to be superior prior to binary association value.
Good /bad have always been subjective Hence relys on the self to be superior prior to binary association value does not mean anything Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

James had a good point, back there. Sharing means caring. Also: Each of us has both pleasure and pain in our life. Much of our pain is due to our choice of attachments. We can control that choice. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
