exobiology: floating exo life ?

    Kepler 159d sits within the Kepler 159’s habitable zone,

    Extraterrestrial dream come true: not having to walk, but floating all the time.
    I recall an old science fiction scenario, of floating intelligent beings having evolved. well,
    Fox & Wiegert have discovered the possible setup, Kepler 159d. for floating life in a goldilocks zone, not in only liquid but in gas.

    If you are going to go on flights of fantasy, why do you feel the need to go outside the solar system? Jupiter or Saturn could also be home to your science fiction life forms.

    But they are not in the goldilocks zone, we have the monopoly on that. which of course has not kept us from floating, ~300 years ago, Montgolfier and Charles, hot air and light gas our artificial levitation mean.s

    article published last week in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, (Canada)
    Life as we know it exists only in habitable zones. With our type of star, at around 1 AU, 10 in the Bode series. 500 light seconds distant. With other stars it varies. With Trappist 1 for example, you need to be closer to feel just right comfy.
    For floating life you need a gas giant in the habitable aka goldilocks zone. Kepler 159 d fits that bill.
    Our gas giants cancel their orbital, rotational velocities at the equator to pick up as much energy as they can, but even then, solar based life would be a stretch.

    So right from the start this has nothing to do with your flights of fantasy about unknown life forms that do not need liquid water.
    Wrong, as usual. The goldilocks zone is for rocky planets and is where water can be found in a liquid form, so that has nothing to do with gas giants. A nice comfy room temperature (~21 C) can be found on Jupiter in this solar system, just a short way into the atmosphere where the gas pressure is ~150 psi.
    Just had to throw in your inane rambling around your lack of knowledge on mechanics and motion.

    The goldilocks zone has nothing to do with composition of bodies, rocky whatever. it is the distance where Radiation from a star allows liquid water to be abundant, at least some place, like inside one's body. floating in a sunbathed atmosphere. is possibly possible on Kepler 159 d. Not talking about the Hindenburg either. Of course life is hardy, if unintelligent, and in strange places, like at the Atlantic ridge smokers, at 300 atmospheres pressure, 4000+ psi. living not on sunlight, but chemical and temperature differences.
    comfy, starlight-bathed floating - intelligently preferred.
