    Why?? : o(

A computer WOULD stop counting: they have a maximum number. As for the field of mathematics...?

If they didn't run, they didn't run. Something that didn't happen didn't take 0.00 seconds. It just didn't happen.

    But they entered the race.

If they didn't finish the race, you can't attribute a time.

They finished as or before they began.

No. They didn't finish at all.

You could say that you started to build a cold-fusion reactor at 12:00 pm on January 1, 2018 but until you actually finish the build you can't say how long the build took.

For what it's worth Rainbow Singularity, the equation for the program you mentioned is n=n+1.

    Fair argument SideshowBob.

"Fastest" is defined as speed. Speed is distance over time.
Since the denominator in this case is zero (zero time), and you can't divide by zero, his speed is undefined.

    Not
    zero, undefined.

    This is grade school math.

Who can't divide by zero? Add one to what you're dividing, add one to what you're dividing by, and subtract one from the total. (+1÷+1)-1.

It's very simple. I can't believe you didn't know that. Now I've told you why don't you see if you can ever discover the answer for yourself. ☺

    Try 2 / 3:
    (2 + 1) / (3 + 1) = (3 / 4) ; (3 / 4) - 1 = (-1 / 4) wrong answer

You're dividing two by three by zero. ☺

So let's divide 4 by 0 using your "logic":

    ((4+1) / (0+1)) -1
    = (5/1) -1
    = 5-1
    = 4

So, it's your assertion that four divided by zero equals ... four.

That's awesome. Because four divided one also equals four.

You have just "proven" that 0==1:

And you can do that for any number on the number scale.

You have just "proven" that all numbers are equal.

    You were joking of course.

No, I'm just dividing two by three using your method. If your method supposedly works for dividing by zero, why doesn't it work for dividing by three?

    He's not serious.

He will recant after reading post 32, which uses his logic rigorously, and results in a complete breakdown of the number system.

Either of you two know if he went to the same school as the idiot Terence Hill? of 1 X 1 = 2 fame?

Love to set up a Maths Off between those two
