Correct. specially in light of more recent unwanted attention about allowing manipulation of viewer click rabbit holeing. some clever folk just turn off comments, other can delete, some allow anything to be said. the more swear words or border line listed hot word negative association created the more the algorythem willfilter the chanel. the filters kick in to vet certain channels because of their market value to the company. also age limits have auto filters to. so a site that makes a lot of money and has lots of younger age interaction will by default get stricker filters running on it automatically. the irony of conspiracy theorys is the majority of preprogrammed thinking that the conspiracy theorists have. you can show them a white rabbit and they will call it pink or blue depending on which way they have been told to percieve it. if you want critical thinkers, you dont engage conspiracy theorists. speaking of which that human garbage Alex J ... i hope he gets bankrupted by the courts. what a piece or crap he is.
I actually stopped using YouTube for some time because I felt their demonetizing of certain channels wrong. Unfortunately the wealth of information is hard to resist. If you want to learn nearly anything, whether that is fixing your dryer or making a flute out of pvc pipe, someone has probably posted a video about it on YouTube. My feeling on the subject, I think large social media companies such as YouTube and Facebook should be declared public utilities. There is too much opportunity for manipulation there.
Yes, but the folks who are disregarded, ridiculed or scorned are those folks who decided an education wasn't worthwhile, hence they automatically disqualify themselves and are dismissed because they have no clue what they're talking about.
My recommendations list in Youtube commonly includes 1) direct extensions of what I have watched, same artists etc and 2) crapola from the Fox and Breitbart and AEI crowd, not related in any way to anything I have watched. Stuff that comes out of nowhere unto my recommendations list is always - always, not a single exception so far - wingnut.
Everything that hits my screen seems to be closely related to what I have recently watched. It changes depending on my recent viewing habits.
indeed The capitalist dream Vs the social mandate of young communities that expect people to espouse socialist law & order. older communities tend more toward independantsustainability on a les a faire modality(true liberalism). Though, given pause for thought on how capitalists steal money from state owned businesses the dice is loaded on both sides. such large utilities/corporations should have no private sector profitability factored into their cost to distrubute the product to the paying customer. every time a state owned utility is privatised it is a declaration of failed capitalism.
Hmmm.... I see . Yet many have been scorned , because the common do not understand their , understanding . Einstein went through this
Generically speaking in a democratic mixed market ecconomy when a large or monopoly busines becomes exccesively authoritarian it opens up the market place for a competitor to come in and create a duopoly which undermines the profit margin and market control of the dominating company. as soon as this becomes the case, youtube will start to lose market share. people are not forced to use youtube. it is an optional position of privilage to be able to access the internet. if like water and food & health care(in the usa), the internet is defined as a compulsory requirement utility(say for instance children), then it will probably take on the same moral dynamics as the american health care system. currently american health care is about 6 times the price of any other equally advanced country because it is a market monopoly on a moraly defined compulsory human need. i beleive the term "mercenary" is the correct word to use. The USA health care system is mercenary however... youtube is not. soo... if you had raised the concept suggesting the USA health care system is Facist, then i would be inclined to look to draw some comparible concepts to what facism is, express, implied & moralistic & etherial etc... morally speaking, the USA health care system is a Facist. Moraly speaking youtube is not.
Both US healthcare and Youtube is fascist. Youtube is similar to cable companies, in that it is simply not feasible to start up your own cable company as big as that. The average person, who is censored by youtube, cannot simply start their own online video project.
You mean, like all these other Youtube alternatives? Vimeo. Metacafe. Veoh. The Internet Archive. Crackle. Screen Junkies. MySpace. The Open Video Project.
I think the whole matter of what private firms like Google, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook censor or don't is utter nonsense. They are not arms of the government. They are not bound by the 1st Amendment. If one doesn't like their decisions about what they will and won't permit, don't use them. There are competing social media platforms. Show your disapprobation by availing yourself of one or more of them and by forswearing Google, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
Uhm... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism I highly doubt that Youtube is an "economic and social system" in any sense of the words...
They all have technical flaws. But also, bad at marketing so nobody hardly uses them. Facebook does suck technologically, but Youtube is actually pretty solid tech.
Youtube is an economic and social system. So is Facebook, you can buy and sell goods on Facebook. Craigslist is also, to a certain extent.
