whats next ? surely something that is cool for young trendy liberal people... the slow but sure facist dogma of corpratisation has turned FaceBook & Twitter into old hard decrepit de-personalised monsters of freedom hating conformists. everything that the free liberal creatives dispise and espouse their children should oppose. is the technology(social media included) market deliberately dumbing down its consumers ?
No, consumers are dumbing down the technology. Actually, marketing departments are. When I first discovered the internet in the 90s, I thought, "This has a lot of potential. But as soon as marketing departments get a hold of it, it's going to go to shit." And here we are...
marketing departments that dictate sale potential as the profit Gurus LoL the new massiah (new-old) sub prime technology sales & marketing departments pandering to litigious consumer corpratisation. all heil boom n bust
I loved this book because in it the internet has devolved into a useless, virus infested, porn, worthless junk. Nobody uses it anymore it's entirely useless. That will eventually happen here. https://www.amazon.com/Timecaster-Insane-Sci-Fi-Action-Book-ebook/dp/B008JHYIF4/
irony considering amazon sell creative human imagination through robots is anyone asking why they pay amazon for someone elses product ? i find the fatalistic futility quite fascinating.
 It does not require any sort of dumbing down or corporatization - or any other change - for something once trendy to become passe. By definition, things that have been around a long time will tend to stop being cool. Cool doesn't have to mean better; it only has to mean newer.
Everything that is useful will get its share of useless. That doesn't mean the useful part stops being useful. It's a matter of what you choose to seek out. No one is force-feeding you porn and memes and cats with cheezeburgers. Me? I seek out science fora, where I can discuss science.
i wonder with the ongoing addition of newer more comprehensive Bots being installed to monitor facebook & twitter, they are depersonalising the model of interaction to strip out the human emotional machine that would otherwise be moderators. irony considering in facebooks case how much money it makes. twitter seems to be running some rather ruthles bots to police account behaviours. this is a bit of a worry as it directly contradicts with the idea of what twitter was originally set up as. i fear twitter has been lost. facebook will always be a stalwart for those with no intelectual worth to be stolen. convinience wrapped up in a gambling platform. people wont have to leave home to gamble away all their familys money and house, they will be able to do it on facebook.
Or you could just use Facebook to keep up with friends that don't happen to live nearby. You can use software to eliminate the ads and even the political posts that you might not care for. I don't really care how much money Facebook makes or doesn't matter as it has no effect on me. I don't pay anything for Facebook and I find it useful to keep up with my friends. I also use Messenger to communicate with those who seem to prefer Messenger. I don't play games or gamble on Facebook.
i have long since abandoned facebook. i wont be going backwards. having some bot have the ability to shut down your personal contact system with friends is a facist reality which i wont participate with.
