OK so the bridge, Russia to Crimea, got built in 27 months----4 lanes,12 miles, 3.5 billion dollars. And, I never heard nor read anything about it on American media----------I wonder WHY Nice bridge, I wonder if it will survive the next earthquake? Meanwhile, Ukraine is still divided and confused. Ukraine seems to have been cobbled together with bits and pieces of different ethnic groups: Recently the borders were determined in Moscow----------When the borders for your country are determined by people not of your country, things get interesting. I have often speculated on this. My hypothesis: Crimea is a major strategic location for Russia. Potentially highly sensitive and classified military installations etc. The Russians require land based access to Crimea to service those classified installations. The Russian involvement in the war in Ukraine especially in the South was primarily to maintain that land access after the revolution in Kiev. Building the bridge is about removing the dependency on the Ukraine for land access to Crimea. The revolution in Ukraine overturned a pro-Russian regime that aided Russia in it's military strategy. Russia intervened to protect it's highly sensitive assets in Ukraine and Crimea. (nuke silos? etc) Now that the bridge is built we should see significant changes in Russian involvement in Ukraine. I've seen it occasionally mentioned in Western news sources on multiple occasions, before and after completion. No idea why you haven't, but try Googling for old articles from Western mainstream media on the subject, if you don't believe me. That bridge obstructs Ukrainian naval traffic and shipping and supports an illegal occupation, not much to celebrate about it unless you like fascism.

1)The Russian annexation of Crimea was not in support of Crimean independence. 2) 'Always change the subject to bad things involving Clintons' has been a good rule for a while now, but it may have had its run. That opinion is what the propaganda operation attempting to destroy the term was designed to inculcate - apparently you fell for it. No, it doesn't seem to be that, or only that - if you look around, and register its usage. Instead, it seems to be a very useful term for communicating in good faith with informed people, and almost necessary for analyzing events such as Trump's election and administration.
