When the Russia Germany gas pipeline is up and running it will be awesome !
Gas is way more environmentally clean than coal or wood.
They are effectively neighbours so the less the fuel has to travel the better the green-miles, for balancing out the carbon foot print.
and... as much as some might complain about the EU environmental regulations. the less pollution the better.

I think the next week or so of Fox News will be spectacular, the team will be pulling various sized rabbits out of their, wherever, to support Trump.
Or will some decide they've had enough already? There isn't any way to support it other than moving to some larger circle of Hell.

faux pews might be a total hit in Russia, they might view it as if it is south-park but with real people.

    Adding insult to injury
In the print news today we have the USA reaching out to Australia to help increase the cost to the Chinese for expanding military presence in the South China Sea.
Wishing us to threaten our trade relationship with the Chinese by participating in some sort of cost causing scheme to force the Chinese to regret their strategic moves into the region and Pacific in general.
Yet simultaneously we have a POTUS that has totally ignored the legitimate grievances stemming from the deaths of 27 Australians (27 of 298) shot out of the sky by the Russians over Ukraine.
There is every reason for many Australians to be justifiably insulted and upset by what has happened at the Helsinki summit.

Why should we assist the USA in punishing the Chinese when the USA has blatantly ignored Russian responsibility for past atrocities to Australians?

You may say that it isn't the USA, it is Trump. Yet Trump whether you like it or not, IS speaking for all of the USA when he opens his mouth and is allowed to go on doing so....

The USA HAS to take responsibility for Trump.

Schtick or not, these are the actions of a buffoon. These are comments I would expect of a 7 year old, not from an adult, and especially not from a POTUS.

He actually thought it was proper to praise Putin for offering to help in an investigation involving Putin. What a monumental jackass.

As has been noted before, this buffoon moved in and took the Presidency.
    Of the United States.
    Without organizational support, early on.

While - if you recall - a good share of the public and punditry was dismissing him as a buffoon. Which made him safe, in a way, right? Not really scary. Buffoons aren't frightening. It's ok to vote for a buffoon on a lark, to send a message. It's ok to stay home, if the worst that can happen is some low comedy.

Meanwhile, this buffoon has gained a position in which he cannot be impeached without risking the US government itself - without the Republican sins that Putin knows about hitting the fan (a money funnel from Russia to the NRA was just arrested by Mueller's crowd, Jared Kushner still hasn't passed the highest level security clearance, etc) and all the Repvoters going spla at once. He's run the con perfectly - the sunk costs of integrity are banked, the stakes have been raised to the level of real courage required, and all the payoffs for courage undermined and ruined.

Rumor has it that Republicans who show signs of defecting for real are getting things like precise threats on their families, complete with dorm room numbers and after-school activity schedules.

That's what's underneath the buffoonery. Look at this last - imagine the position of a Republican who does not immediately break faith with the Party now: they will be so compromised as to be paralyzed.

Trump's getting hammered by his party and media allies over his ass licking of Putin. He’s already trying to spin his submissive performance as smart diplomacy.

“As I said today and many times before, ‘I have GREAT confidence in MY intelligence people.’ However, I also recognize that in order to build a brighter future, we cannot exclusively focus on the past – as the world’s two largest nuclear powers, we must get along!”

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...ss-conference-disaster-is-comically-dishonest

He took the same tack with Kim Jong-un who is the smallest nuclear power. I guess he’s calculating that if he publicly kisses up to these dictators, they’ll offer him some sort of diplomatic jackpot, like nuclear arms reductions. If it actually works, is ass licking your way to a Nobel Peace Prize really such a bad thing? It’s the perfect job for a pathological lair, to portray murderous thugs as respectable leaders in exchange for a safer world. I’m starting to feel deplorable.

just watched the news items. they look like buddies.
probably not what the republicans wanted
possibly good news for nuclear weapons reduction prospects(which the republicans will hate). ?

i wonder if "both sides were to blame" will mean a massive sre-structure of american agencies.
    hhmm...

    Oh please.
He is making no such calculations. He has shown no interest in governance, or diplomacy, or any kind of benefit for other people like that, ever.

Anyone trying to guess his "calculations" would be starting from the evidence of his interests and priorities and motivating circumstances - such as this: https://www.newyorker.com/news-desk...rs-to-buy-his-money-losing-scottish-golf-club

Fine. Not? You think if two politicians meet each other, their job is to criticize the other?
I think it is a diplomatic tradition that even if enemies meet each other in negotiations that they do this in a civilized way, trying to find compromises, instead of namecalling each other.

Ok, one is used to US politicians to behave in such diplomatic negotiations as if they were the policemen, or teacher or so, who has a right, or even obligation, to teach others what they have to do. Sorry, this is something you can allow yourself with Merkel, as long as she allows such uncivilized behavior. But it would be better if the US would stop this in general.

This is not really about Trump - it is about the bad behavior of Western politicians in general, and the Western media forcing them to behave in such a way. Say, Merkel visited Egypt and behaved in a more or less civilized way. And all the German mainstream media attacked her for not criticizing Sisi for being such an evil dictator. But this is not her job, at least not if this is some official visit, where one follows a diplomatic protocol and is expected to behave like a diplomat not only formally.

So, the funny thing is that Trump is, essentially, criticized for behaving in a civilized, educated, diplomatic way. Imagine, Trump!!!!11!1

Sometimes, yes. There are of course diplomatic and civil ways to do that, none of which Trump is capable of, but it still needs to be done.
Namecalling is not the issue in the real world outside your bubble. Submission and eager cooperation is, especially with enemies whose interests are contrary to those of one's represented citizens.
This is about Trump, and his submission to Putin as one of Putin's pet oligarchs.
We saw the actual performance, dude. There was nothing educated or diplomatic about it. We saw a dumbass kiss ass, and make a clumsy job of it.

so if the polish leader met hitler during ww2 he should have praised him. you dont praise people hostile countries currently attacking your own.

trump has never acted in a civilized, educated, and/or diplomatic way in his entire life.

He doesn't treat his allies in a civilized, educated, diplomatic way.

Indeed, he treats them like vassals are treated. Which is what they deserve, given that they behave like vassals themselves.
Instead, with statesmen which are not vassals, he behaves more appropriately.
There is no need at all to praise somebody.
I don't claim he did. But I see the funny thing that he is criticized for behaving here in a more civilized, diplomatic way than usual.
No. There is no need at all to do what the Western media usually want to see - namecalling the other side in press conferences.
Namecalling missed clearly was the issue in what I have criticized, namely "Not one single criticism of Russia mentioned by Trump that I could find so far...".

You want a Cold War, as close to Hot War as possible, or why do you name even that modest attempt to revive civilized relations with Russia "submission and eager cooperation with enemies"? BTW, you are wrong, Russia has no interests contrary to those of the US citizens. Of course, except for the interest of some of them to rule the whole world and steal resources everywhere.

How do they behave like vassals?

And how is treating anybody like vassals behaving in a civilized, educated, diplomatic way?

Yes. I would hope that Trump's behavior in relation to the vassals creates some resistance. But until now, I haven't seen much. They behave as like they hope that in two years this nasty master will be replaced by a good master, like Obama, and until this happens, they have to abide all this.
The civilized way would be, of course, to handle even vassals like people on equal foot. But, sorry, we are talking about Trump.

I asked you how they're behaving like vassals. Give examples.
