it is starting to look fairly clear now there is a global deflation going on. Large companys are flatening off their profit growth as they cut back on expenditure. consumer spending is undermined by a lack of wage increases. consumer credit will probably rise a bit as negative growth. there is a colaberative moan coming from big business complaining about not having such big profit increases. will superannuation investment managers move quickly to secure their capital ? will hedge fund managers try to re-brand & short sell their own grandmothers ? micro beeds in facial care products is un cool Plastic bags are un cool kids plastic toys exceptionally cool & defying the anti plastic movement plastic nappies stil very cool but getting some crap
Hee hee... Seriously important subject... The big question being asked is about the actual and real cost of continuous economic growth. In general terms .. It is about the bun fight between unsustainable growth and sustainable growth and the need for the world to "contract" in just about every aspect back to a more sustainable position. ( presuming the current to be unsustainable) The worlds financial systems are not designed for contraction as this is normally referred to as recession or depression. Growth at all cost can only lead one way.... failure IMO Population, power, money etc For me the key words are Long Term Sustainability and we as a race are far from anything resembling long term sustainability. just thoughts...
Supermarkets here are banning single use plastic bags Bring your resusable plastic bags back for reuse Some offshoots First single use bags were reused to line rubbish bins. No more of these bags. Up by about 5 fold go the sale of plastic bin liners Second reusable plastic bags tested for germs find e-coli. E-coli not a good bug to have outside of its normal habitat More sickness and possibly deaths in elderly expected Thirdly plastic bags in landfills help stabilise the fill Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
opinion shared indeed it seems long term sustainable business growth seems to be a swear word around most economists who are not half way through some very strong marijuana joints. i did ponder backward and forward between the concepts of inflation rescesion depresion & deflation. my leaning was deflation as a technical economics term given the basic measurements around the other terms both negatively swung on ecconomic productivity & personal wealth and stock values. Given the business communities seem to be singing poor-woa-is-me a little louder i think it is mostly as an emotional reaction to the real prospects of having to let go of their great expectations of unbridled expansion growth using entropy of cost along side burgioning new consumer markets. the consumer markets somewhat closing up ranks with the trade war kicking off while companys are not essentially losing money but stumbling in how to know how to manage and maintain their busines model with stable market conditions. maybe its the hedge fund traders(im using them as a carachature not an actual specific group) having a mid life crisis among flatening long range profit margin growth statistics. lol it does seem ironic that along side capitalist user pays dogma spouting is this concept of banning a consumer driven item that has always been a "cost factored pricing expense write down" people have always been paying for plastic bags, otherwise the super markets would not have had them being used. it is the no carbon tax tax for more profit non recycling recycling (double speak nonsense for a process of consumer choice). the charge on plastic bags should be a tax instead of a corporate profit if they were actually serious about it. but now you see a socialist law enacted to ban them. thats socialism. im kinda ok with that only if it does not corner the market to then hand off profit to another company that are non regulated for the oil products they use to make the bags. why dont they ban ALL plastic bags for shopping inside super markets ? all shopping bags should be made from washable cotton or hemp. a sensible socialist law that would make a lot of sense AND actually help create business growth. are the plastic bag companys suing the governments ? lol
