Darwin Awards are given to those who improve the human gene pool by removing themselves from it.

One classic: Teenage boy climbed to a steep roof & invited his girl friend to join him there for sex, fearing that sex in her bed room might be noisy enough to be overhead by her parents.

They fell 3 stories to a concrete pavement & did not survive.

Coincidence just yesterday I was with our local politician about ideas I wanted to put forward, just as a member of the public, ideas about a museum the government is thinking of building

My idea was the museum should concentrate on the sciences and have some details about Charles Darwin after whom the city is named

I then asked why as a city named after Darwin we never held the Darwin Awards Conventions

She wasn't keen on the idea but I will follow through on the museum and convention

The problem with this logic is that sure it's one problem but not the only one, which is the lack of intelligence. the problem also is how intelligence is used. there is just as much damage and deterioration in society due to negative use of intelligence. there are very intelligent people who use it for destructive purposes so that is just as toxic to society as well. when you couple cleverness or smarts with scummy character, it's worse than an innocent with simple intelligence. there is more than one issue at stake.

Yes, my reaction on reading this was sorrow, rather than amusement. But then I have a teenage son......

behold evolutionary winners. evolution is wonderful and perfect and above all holy, of course. it produces the very best possible and of course, always favors the very best.

does this sound like delusional religious bs as in not factual or unscientific? not according to scientists (of course because they are all knowing and perfect, right?) but this is what is believed among so-called experts and scientists. it's utter bullshit and you would have to use a lot of cognitive dissonance as well as be even intellectually dishonest to swallow it too. there is evidence in teeming amounts in life all around you to refute such fake and neat nonsense of perfection of nature and evolution which amounts to fantasy.

No, it isn't. You are flat wrong about that.

Nothing like that is part of mainstream science, or believed by ordinary mainstream scientists. Quite otherwise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handicap_principle

That says more about our society's attitude toward sex than it does about evolution.

Being just a few yards from the Ozarks I hear "hold my beer and watch this" a lot. Sadly the events are fatal often enough to get the point across.

Winners of the Darwin awards are always given posthumously

Second place getters have theirs given to them in bed. Frequently a hospital bed

Third placers get to go home and breed

We had a company clerk who was fond of writing poetry with acronyms.

    I don't write much

I am saving the ink in my phone

If it's anything like the ink in the printer is going to be expensive to refill

I'm using the same pixels I was originally issued in 1987 with the 286 DOS machines we started with. They work find thirty years on.
