That would guarantee that "thin air" they were talking about.

But to your point, no one knows that it didn't happen on Venus.

Even if someone recorded it, wouldn't people say it's fake or something? Video editing software is so advanced nowadays it's near impossible to tell what's real and what's been faked.

I'm on the fence when it comes to these kinds of stories. I'm skeptical, but at the same time, these reports of things or people vanishing out of existence in plain sight are common and seem to defy any rational explanation.

If you head over to reddit.com/r/glitch_in_the_matrix there are tons of these reports. They often say in their posts that they were with a friend who also saw the person vanish, ruling out a hallucination or perception issue, and they clarify that the person did not go behind anything or walk alway. The person, car or building was in plain sight or 3 feet in front of them when they just blinked out of existence, as if someone hit the delete button on them.

These reports are always consistent in that they do not report that there was any kind of explosion, sound or flash of light when the person vanished. The atoms in the person's body did not simply turn into energy - they vanished entirely.

I reading this thread and there's a tune going on in my head...

Did you ever see an elephant fly
Well I seen a horse fly
    I seen a dragon fly
    I seen a house fly

    I seen all that too
    I seen a peanut stand
    And heard a rubber band
I seen a needle that winked its eye

But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly
    What'd you say boy
I said when I see a elephant fly

I seen a front porch swing
    Heard a diamond ring
I seen a polka dot railroad tie

But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly

I saw a clothes horse and he rear up and buck
And they tell me that a man made a vegetable truck
    I didn't see that, I only heard
Just to be sociable I'll take your word
    I heard a fireside chat
    I saw a baseball bat
And I just laughed till I thought I'd die

But I've been, done, seen about everything
    When I see a elephant fly .

But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly

When I see an elephant fly.
    Disney.

It's a rare person who can be so gullible and still tie their shoelaces.

Wait... I've never seen your shoes.

I suggest you be skeptical about all these reports. Even if there is video, you should doubt the video. People don't just disappear in an instant.

But if he finds EVEN ONE that's remotely credible he'll be insufferable for months.

Yes, you should be sceptical even about a video. Disappearing something is the easiest effect to fake. They were doing it with film cameras. Also, people are really stupid. Especially on Reddit.

If it's as common as he says, he may disappear in one of these ''glitch'' things.

Are you privy to a report that explicitly says any of this? I'd like to read it.

    I'm particularly interested in this:

    especially in light of this:

    Does
the account say there was nothing nearby?
Does the account say he "winked out"?
Does the account say it looked like a delete in computer program?

See, what's happening here, is that you're rewriting the story in your own words. And then turning around and marveling how mysterious your story is.

MR got into a lot of trouble with this a while back, when he creatively re-interpreted events in a "haunting" video, conflating and paring events to suit a hugely biased conclusion.

If you wanted to be skeptical, step one would be to not creatively punch up the account of events so that it sounds way more mysterious than it is.

This duck, was as astounded as me when the piece of bread I threw it just disappeared into thin air.

It's pictures like this that are bringing these ''glitches'' to light.

Did the duck describe it as "like clicking 'delete' in a 3D computer program"?

    From MR's link:
What does a poltergeist want with a piece of bread? To make an old fashion bread poultice?

Well, they do like bread, although they often have trouble eating it - as we know from noted philosopher Gordon Sumner.

There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt
There's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread
