Bought one for my sister, started playing around with hers... THIS IS AWESOME. It is surprising amount of exercise standing in place dogging bullets and taring robots from limb to limb.

Anyone read the book "Ready Player One" they are making it into a movie, but yeah I can see it happening where people willingly enter the matrix to escape a shit reality.

Is this like belling the cat? Or I guess it would be catting the bell.

I'm picturing someone carefully attaching tiny dogs to bullets.

OK, now I'm picturing a tiny 4" tall accountant - running from one of my arms across my shoulders to the other - while weighing and packaging tiny robots.

Just having a little fun at your expense EF.

I've fooled around with the Oculus Rift before and it's incredible. Obviously you know you're not in another world, but the graphics are good enough to really trick your brain into perceiving that you might be in a different room. Who knows what future developments in this field will bring. I'm hoping for graphics so good that you feel fully immersed.

I now own a Vive, having played around with both I would say the Occulus is best for chair based or small room VR.

With the Occulus you need more sensors the bigger your movement range gets, a 3rd sensor just to do true 360 degree (if you turn around backwards to the sensor you will notice glitches in your hand position), but it comes with a free Xbox game controller.

The Vive only needs two "emitters" for full 3D and larger room area, but you need a big room for that, finding a unencumbered 3x3 meters is harder then it sounds. The Vive also come with a nice plug in hub to unplug the headset from and unwind the cable as it always gets twisted in game play.

Which is better: the Vive or Occulus? Depends on how much room space you have. If you have only enough space to stay sitting in a chair, the occulus is good enough and cheaper and comes with a controller that is familiar enough to use blindfolded. If you have floor space, go with the Vive.

    Loved the book.
I have an Oculus... was going to buy the Vive, but wanted to wait until the Vive Pro came out.

If you have the Oculus, I strongly suggest getting Lone Echo.
Best game available in my opinion. Simply amazing.

I've definitely had the giggles while playing some games. It really is just so awesome.
The future is bright for gaming!

Yeah even with the hub, having to unplug the wires, unwind them and plug them back in after EVERY game play is an annoyance... Either that or I guess I need to stop turning more one way then another or something.
