that is an interesting point on the quantum level. for instance, a simple glance at someone if there is any changes going on with them or you just by that action alone.

if there are, i don't like that idea. maybe that's why i don't like people looking at me. i don't want my particles messed with.

but realistically, that would be un-quantifiable even if it was with what we can detect and see.

Does it mean if I stop looking at somebody they vanish into oblivion never to be seen again? Ever?

OK got to go and stop looking at a lot of people

    Oh what a beautiful morning
    Oh what a wonderful day
    I've got a wonderful feeling
    Everything's going my way

The first of the above conjectures is silly. It is known that the universe existed prior to the existence of any observers.

BTW: Some of the quantum theory notions about the requirement for an observer is due to misunderstanding of an expect opinion by tech writers for publications intended for non-experts.

Bohr & others have claimed that some attributes of quantum level entities do not exist until the entity has an effect at the classical level. They have not claimed that an intelligent observer is required.

They do not claim that such entities do not exist until there is an effect at the classical level. They only claim that the attributes cannot be said to exist until there is such an effect.

I think the entanglement situation relates to knowledge not a cause-effect situation. It is analogous to the following

A heterosexual pair of humans is expected to arrive on different space ships. When the first ship arrives and the occupant is observed to be a male, it is known that the passenger on the second ship is a female.

    Hello Andrew256.

Should I exist in the world some time after my death, the people in the world are different. I will act, and they will react differently, making me a different person. Perhaps this is the essence of life. Each of us is born with a soul and a "blank-slate." As with stem-cells. Two people may ride the same bike, but it is HOW it is ridden that defines the journey.

Inter resting argument Birch. I believe it has also been proven by the double-slit experiment. Incidentally someone posted "coma" when I believe they meant "comatose."

There is no blank-slate , the soul learns and/or , repeats past experiences .
