First thing I could find on coronal holes: Coronal holes are areas of the Sun's surface that are the source of open magnetic field lines that head way out into space. They are also the source regions of the fast solar wind, which is characterized by a relatively steady speed of approximately 800 km/s (about 1.8 million mph). As the sun continues to rotate, the high speed solar wind particles blowing from this hole will likely reach Earth in a few days and may spark some auroral activity. Oh. Okay. It's not supposed to. You posted a link [1]; I posted further information [2] on what is in the linked photo; when you asked [3], I simply reiterated the term from your link in the topic post [4]. The link in #4 is a fragment, not intended to work; its purpose is to highlight the term "cornonalhole" in the topic post link, which in turn is what I was following up on with the NASA page. The question and comment in #3 tell me I was wrong to do so, but as such I no longer have any idea what this thread is about.
