    Have you been there?
    Or to the Ark experience.
If I visited US I would have them on my list.
I read one in five Americans have been to the Creation Museum so it must be good.
Seems like a great business as you would probably draw both sides.
    I would go for sure.

It does seem like it would attract people from both sides of the issue, but actually, the profits have been disappointing.

It's a mishmash of pseudoscience and blatant misrepresentation. You'll come out feeling like you've been showered with grey water.

At Star Trek conventions, there is a percentage of attendees who have - in their own minds - kind of blurred or suspended the difference between the show and the world outside their heads.

The Creationist Museum seems to be an example of that percentage taking over the Convention and the archiving of the show itself, including revision of screenplays and dialogue.

The problem with that kind of takeover, from a businessman's pov, is that the product is (for everyone else) clumsy, dull, and confused: a tale full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. They screw up even the metaphorical truths and entertaining allusions or innuendos, never mind blockheading the dialogue and making central issues out of minor plot holes. The show no longer "works".

I think it would be most amusing.
I would wear a robe and carry a Sheppard's crook and present a begging cup which will have written on its side " Holy Grail".
I watched a utube vid where an atheist was being guided around by someone in authority and was somewhat taken aback by the beliefs they hold.
I mean you hear about them but seeing them in the flesh is both funny and frightening.
I learnt that God gave us clothes to protect us from sin, and to hear this guy say that and be most serious about it ...well I don't know what I felt..ranged from pity to anger.
I tend to think most folk are rational so I found it confronting.
I now find myself looking at folk in the street and wondering could that be one... They are here as well.
A Christian I know loves going to the US and I can't wait to ask him if he has been there... He seems like a smart fella owns three cattle running farms but one day he started talking about Gods covenant with man and seemed to take the bible literally.
I could not stir him up at the time as a family member was renting a farm house from him but as they moved out the next time I see him I will ask him if he has been there and next how old the Earth is etc.

That figure isn't accurate. Only about 3 million people have visited and that includes repeat visitors. It would take 23 million or so to be one out of every 5 Americans.

I'm sure that most of those attending are from the states surrounding it. I can guarantee that it's not a tourist destination for the average American. It gets around 300,000 visits a year.

By comparison Wall Drug gets about 2 million visitors a year and this is to a town in the middle of nowhere in South Dakota.

I have been watching various utube vids about atheism and it was in one of those I am sure... If I can find the one I will post it.

    1 in 5 is 20% of 33o,ooo,ooo, or 66,000,000. That's never going to happen.

You are correct about the number. I don't know where I got 23 million.

If it says open long enough it could be 66 million (I doubt that it will of course) but that still wouldn't mean that 1 out of every 5 Americans have been there. You are correct that that is never going to happen.

My SoBap cousins have been more than once, mostly. But even they have trouble making it a trip focus, and King's Island isn't far away. Add Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs and it's a trip.

Can anyone post a picture of the saddle that I understand is exhibited in this museum, on which men were supposed to have ridden dinosaurs?
    Flintstones or what?!

You know I am sure I did not dream it up so I suspect I heard that 1 in 5 someplace and my guess it may have come from the head dude when talking to the atheist...I just don't dream that sort of thing up.
The atheist would not have said anything as he seemed careful in what he would challenge... Well you would, being in there surrounded by folk who are very passionate about their bible and their museum.

And some of them would happily kill you to prove God's love. (This is not speculation.)

As George Carlin observed the greater the belief in a different religion (God) the more murder became a negotiable decision.

I find a macabre irony in that.
