Just want to take a moment to say I value your company. Though I have been contentious, provocative and, yes, an asshole in the past, I've often found your interactions with me valuable. Though we may still disagree on many issues, I do value the time you spend with me. My apologies for any past actions that might have caused you pain.

--Peace and happiness be with you always.

The Ego is The Devil, Spider. Had I not apologized, the devil would have won.

    That is nice of you.
For my part I don't find anything you say problematical and I enjoy our interactions.
As to your proposition that you can be an " a hole" ( I dislike profanity but given I enjoy our chats and to draw your attention to a point you raise I must type my gentler version of what I find a terrible term)...as to that proposition I think you should offer some evidence in support...I challenge you to prove to me that your description is valid.

Why do you think you might have caused someone pain. Have you had any intention to cause pain to anyone or do you think you may have been too casual and causing pain would be a reasonable consequence.

Bowser, are you doing OK these days? Excuse the impertinent question, but I have seen a quite a few rather uncharacteristic posts from you of late. I just wondered if something was up.

I sometimes spend hours here. Possible I should be more appreciative of the people with whom I am spending that time?

I think people's sensitivities might have been hurt in the past. Where I have approached them as though I were a steamroller, it probably would have been better had I been more thoughtful in my approach.

Oh, sorry about the curse word. I have a mental list of those I use and those I don't use.

Well, if you admit to being an asshole, that would be a start, daring stuff into consciousness and all...

I don't like Donald Trump that's my political view.

    :EDIT:

And I'm a white female... If that makes any sense. (Maybe I'm crossing too many different boards.)

    :EDIT:

But this North Korea thing is center stage.

It occurred to me that US are probably happy to have a reason to have a presence in the region given the growth of China's blue water Navy.

As far as I know, the US has 3 aircraft carriers in the Japan sea. That is not a "Hello" welcome. If you listen to the US ambassador to the UN: "We will destroy..." ... I'm worried about nuclear winter.

Look on the bright side a nuclear winter should halt the warming.

I don't believe it will fall into a nuclear event, but I wonder whether war will bring more harm than good to those in N Korea.

Both leaders must be happy with the tension so they get to make speeches on how they will flog the other.
All good that's what they do.
The respective militaries and industries in support will be happy.
Think of just the news reporters who have something to write about.
    Food for many tables.

I suppose so... I hardly consider N Korea a major threat, but I pity those who live there.

Probably not a threat to you but folk in the region have cause for concern after all NK do have weapons they test and even the prospect of an unarmed rocket landing on your house must be a worry.
I imagine the folk living there probably don't know their lot is poor as I suspect they would be told otherwise.
I would save pity for the folk in your country who know they have been thrown on the scrap heap and no one cares.

That is true. So what should they do about it?

They might not, but isn't it everyone's desire to free the captive?

I can't guarantee their happiness, but possibly the best I can do is hold open the big door.
