I thank if the mind is gone you are gone.!!! Id say wit complete annesia thers nuthin left of you.!!! Of course this blank mind coud start a new life.!!!
I guess you coud seek a legal settlement to divide thangs like in a divorce... but the girl woud have to make her own choice.!!! Sounds like a bummer... but you coud simply have the clone frozen an used for quick body part replacments... you coud even upload you'r brain to a computer each night as you sleep in case you have a severe brain injury.!!!
The green lizard has duplicated sense of the pink skin version of me. That is the essence of the original post. It may be arrived at from a different pathway Whatever happens to you - you remain you - until you are dead Then the you that was you becomes your constituent elements No matter what physical parts you remove you remain you No matter what functions you remove you remain you Only when you remove the process of life do you revert back to your constituent elements Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
You've never cleared your mind of thoughts? I mean, you don't walk your life thinking you are this or that, do you?
For fun ive tried but not sure i succeeded.!!! "If you lost all the contents of your mind, would you still be you?" I took that to mean loss of brain activity needed for thouts.!!! I have brain activity which allows me to thank what i thank.!!!
Keep trying. The "I" is eternal. Everyone and every thing is I. It is born, lives, dies and is reborn again and again and again. So, yes, you are eternal.

I am better knowing who I am. Where I was once swimming in my own discontent, I am now happy simply chatting with you, watching the rain, eating a sandwich, or spending a quiet moment while my dog snoozes in my lap. Again, if being cluelusshusbund makes you happy, that is fine.
If you consider memories as part of the essence of me (I do) yes No matter which way someone visits my city of Darwin they will find a objective city of Darwin They will add their own subject observations, which will not impact the objective city of Darwin Subjectively I can have a pink fleshy skin or a hard green scaley skin Objectively I can be the essence of me in both skins As I have indicated chop off bits, remove functions you stay you Where I see a dilemma arising with the essence of you is something like a brain transplant If the you you having a new brain installed has a limp, lisp, stuttering or distinctive features but with a new brain those features disappear does that negate my assertion "chop off, remove function" idea? Does the brain retain its own you essence? What about if the you you obtaining the brain keeps the limp, list, stuttering? Does adding features allow the brain to keep its you you? I know the conversation is old, but still I feel something about the consciousness I can't explain in words. If you loose all of your memories, including the language, people you know, everything about the world, everything at all - you will be in a similar state as a newborn child. However, you would still be you and have a clear distinction between you and other conscious beings (you might need to regain some information about the world though beforehand). It's like something in this universe binds you to a specific point in space-time and keeps you there, tracking your progression along the space-time, and only "release" you once you cease to exist. That "binding" will (might?) remain intact if your brain were transplanted, or if you undergo a theoretical cryogenic sleep and then re-awaken. The nature of this "binding" of my consciousness to this specific point in a space-time is what fascinates me the most. And this is what makes me think that a new, similar "binding" can be formed again, because it already happened at least one time. That person (being?) won't be you in a common sense, it won't share any connection with you whatsoever on any level of existence. BUT, it will have the similar "binding" to a space-time that makes you identify as "you" right now. In other words, it's not correct to call this reincarnation. Rather, this "new" consciousness would exhibit the same properties as your consciousness do right now. Even though it will not share any connection to you. Argh, that's really hard to communicate in words Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! There's even no need for a God, just a natural laws of the universe and whatever makes it tick.
