also, this shooter doesn't fit any profile of a would-be shooter. they were not poor, recently lost a job, loss of loved ones etc. they also had no criminal or mental health record so there is nothing to profile. this makes society more uneasy because it shows profiling doesn't work.

They fit more the profile of two brothers in the 1930 they were from a well to do family . they wanted to know how does to feel to kill people.
So this murder wanted to find out how does it fill, kill fish in a barrel , that is actually the act.

    That is textbook sociopathy.

I don't think there's any real evidence yet that this shooter was sociopathic but who knows?

    Not particularly, no.
Just because he murders - even mass murders - does not mean it is due to sociopathy.

It depend on your view what a sociopath is . The Las Vegas murder planned his action . Perhaps in your mind the guy was doing research ? He did not give a dam in harming the innocent people including children, he just was interested in his own feeling, I doubt he was angry at humanity , since he spent a lot of time among human, human to him were just a target in a barrel. He prepared a get away for himself .
I can see nazi during the war the soldiers had orders, but this murder , he is the guy that give orders and executer

Well, no. Sociopathy is clinically defined.

My point is he might not be diagnosed with it but they are high chances that he has some traits of Sociopathy.

Is it a pleasure to see people die?

For sadists and for very, very angry people who want others to feel the pain they feel.
    Otherwise, no.

You mean "out of his mind".

Sure. But that doesn't really describe anything. He certainly was able to navigate every other part of his life, including being rich.

But he knows that he will kill himself if he resisted the arrest,
    killing oneself is not wise.

That's a generalization. The only person who can decide that is him.

the unrealism is that sociopathy is expressed in differing avenues. some socipaths express it sexually abusing others or deviancy, others physically violently, others by emotional/mental abuse etc, others by lying or cheating etc. some by a combination of these or some of these traits but most sociopaths do things undercover or so they don't/won't get caught, which is most people who value their life quality and continuance.

    this is different.

the truth is most of society is sociopathic in traits to begin with so to just level it as sociopathy does not really show the whole picture. mass murderers have one major thing in common is they are ready to go out of this world when they commit to such actions.

most sociopaths commit actions/deeds to benefit their lives in some way, at the expense of others or certain victims which results in suffering or damage, which is the most common form of sociopathy, not to end their lives permanently. you can't use or abuse people if they are dead which true sociopaths need people alive to do so. people often assume that as long as a person does not commit murder, they are not sociopathic and that is furthest from the truth. mass murder is just one form of sociopathy.

Like you just described here. It is all twisted together and intertwined together I knew a sociopath teacher and counselor. A sociopath can also be a lawyer or any other career. Many of these characters run large companies and generally do not get caught but
when they do it creates a sensation. The banking scandal in 2008, the stock market scandal that followed, and Bernie Madoff are all the result of allowing sociopath's into the boardroom of business, non profit's and industry.

Evil nature caused one to become killer.

Well that doesn't really explain anything, does it?

Why did he do that evil thing?
Because he had an evil nature.
OK, why did he have an evil nature then?

Not really...most of the people who are termed as "evil" have a twisted childhood. They had different experiences that made them the way they are.
