There is a significant problem or serious vexation waiting a resolution for nations of the world. It can be demonstrated by the use of the river sharing analogy, where by a water source has to travel through a neighboring property before it gets to your own, thus making you dependent on the "generosity" of the neighbor for your survival. With the advent of globalization it becomes more and more apparent that the internal affairs of a nation have a greater consequence on other nations...In the case of North Korea, the development of deliverable WMA's even as a reported defensive initiative is very concerning, especially to those who seek to control their environment as much as people of the USA do. How does it feel to know that any investment you make in the future is dependent on some unknown despot in a nation 20,000 kms away? then apply it to a much larger scenario...( abstraction to demonstrate the point) How does it feel to know that any investment you make is dependent on some unknown despot on a planet 2million light years away? The problem is to do with the desire to control that which can not be controlled. North Korea ( and the existentialism it is in part fighting for) can not be controlled and this is why the world (USA) has the problem it has today, because it is still trying to do the impossible. BUT, the situation fails to provide many alternatives as it stands so this is not a criticism but merely an impotent observation
I think we should help N Korea to increase the standard of living and interchange in business. The idealism will fall in same way as Mao Tse Tung. We have a good ambassador . the black basketball player ( sorry I don't remember his name ), to organize sport teams
Lets take an example of history. Vietnam , We divided we battled , we got our arsh out , now Vietnam is our business partner
if north korea's leader is truly suicidal, then he is dangerous. he does seem to be hankering for a war. the best case scenario would be if covert military operations would take out Kim Jong Un, take the country and enforce democratization, crumbling the regime. basically hostile takeover. the next worst is all sanctions imposed from every country which is unlikely because there are other rogue countries which would still do business with them. the very worst is outright war which will probably crumble the regime but at the cost of many lives, possibly even the destruction of neighboring countries such as south korea and japan. this could end up being similar to a pearl harbor situation, if kim jong un keeps upping his antics. it could be seen as a declaration of war and dropping a targeted nuke or threatening such, forcing the disarmament of north korea such as was done with japan may be the only real solution. otherwise, i can see kim jong un testing his missiles on hawaii looking for a war, if he is that stupid. what is the most important issue is to stop this regime before they have complete nuclear power which will be inevitable. this regime should be dealt with seriously now. it would actually be very easy if the UN was actually in agreement.
