The device I was using broke. It was set to remember my password. I forgot the password & no longer have access to the email address I signed up with. I could not change the password or email without entering the current password. Now I cannot access my info.
I signed up with this different name only to see if this can be worked out.
I hope I don't have to start over with this new name.
    Help!

I've put in for an Administrator; this checks in above the rest of our permissions level.

I got the old device working but I do not know for how long. When I log in, the password is filled in but I cannot read it. I have always hated that. My password is hidden from me on my device.

I cannot get that to work. Maybe I should have mentioned both my current devices are Android tablets.

    Thanks for trying.

Also, you really should update your profile with a current email.

If you are using Android, and logging in via Chrome, you should be able to go into settings, click Show Advanced Settings, the click "Manage Passwords" - find the SciForums login and click "show password" and you should be golden.

Every time I click on settings with that tablet, Chrome closes. Sigh. I wanted to keep trying for several days before responding.
I just bought a new laptop computer which I am using at the moment so even if that tablet had not problems I would yet need to switch devices.
    Thanks for trying to help.

I was focused on trying Kitta's suggestion. I would have to try yours again to answer your question & for now I am focused on setting up my new laptop computer. I will try again in a couple days if that tablet is still working then.

I use whats called a "Chromebook" (for about 4 years)... its fast... always works an dont get bugs or virisus.!!!

Mine is 15.6 inch... Full HD... 7 seconds to Boot-up an 9 hour battery life.!!!

Have fun wit you'r new laptop

Hm... if you used Chrome, then there is still a chance. If you signed into a Google account, when you sign into the account on the new device it should bring your passwords over... should being the operative word here

That did not work either but it made me think of connecting the tablet to the laptop computer & transferring Chrome. But it would not let me copy programs. Only pictures & music, etc.
    Thanks again for trying.

Hm... unfortunately, there isn't much more we can do without either an admin (neither of which have signed on in over a month now) or the recovery email

From a security and software testing standpoint... the fact that this works, at all, is rather terrifying...

none the less, I can confirm that it does, in fact, work - it will change the dots in the password box into plain text.

I tried that again. This tablet has no right click so I cannot get to those functions.
    Thanks.

    Hope the admins are OK.
