How pleasant were our bodies in the days of Chaos, Needing neither to eat or piss! Who came along with his drill And bored us full of these nine holes? Morning after morning we must dress and eat; Year after year, fret over taxes. A thousand of us scrambling for a penny, We knock our heads together and yell for dear life.
the poet took a little licence there the original was the 7 holes on the head here is another variant: The emperor of the South Sea was called Shu [Brief], the emperor of the North Sea was called Hu [Sudden], and the emperor of the central region was called Hun-tun [Chaos]. Shu and Hu from time to time came together for a meeting in the territory of Hun-tun, and Hun-tun treated them very generously. Shu and Hu discussed how they could repay his kindness. "All men," they said, "have seven openings so they can see, hear, eat, and breathe. But Hun-tun alone doesn't have any. Let's trying boring him some!" Every day they bored another hole, and on the seventh day Hun-tun died. ............... In the original(of which I cannot find a copy) that I read circa 40 years ago, there were the gods of the north, south, east, and west and the original god Chaos. and Chaos came to the same sad, though well intentioned end.
If those are creation poems, or whatnot, how do you interpret them? My revenge will be like a poison river of molten iron that drips and burns like iron that has been melted and now drips... and burns. —Hundun, "Rhino's Revenge" from Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.
Yes My thoughts are mine, sometimes partially derived from what I read and what I've reposted. It ain't about the destination so much as it is about the journey. Which I've shared.
One of many Kinda like a meander A man once told me that if you know where you are going, it is easier to get there. If I knew where I was going, what would be the point of the journey?
