You know, the title really should be a stupid question.

Multnomah County GOP chair James Buchal, however, told the Guardian that recent street protests had prompted Portland Republicans to consider alternatives to “abandoning the public square”.

“I am sort of evolving to the point where I think that it is appropriate for Republicans to continue to go out there,” he said. “And if they need to have a security force protecting them, that’s an appropriate thing too.”

Asked if this meant Republicans making their own security arrangements rather than relying on city or state police, Buchal said: “Yeah. And there are these people arising, like the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters.”

Asked if he was considering such groups as security providers, Buchal said: “Yeah. We’re thinking about that. Because there are now belligerent, unstable people who are convinced that Republicans are like Nazis.”

    (Wilson↱)

    Then again, these are Republicans.

what makes conservatives dangerous is this:

they are inherently, deeply, and unconsciounably dishonest and note what they are or do that is negative is projected onto liberals or others.

they conflate their wish to censor other's rights and the prevention/retaliation/disagreement of it as censorship directed towards them. that is the hypocrisy. they only see their rights/protection and only that is in real consideration. but it's okay and justified if they do that to others. This is why conservatives should be opposed more than giving them more leeway because they do not care about anything except their rights, their movement, their views, their values etc and if given much power will run roughshod over others and be dictatorial.

Sure, they will play the victim card when they don't have as much power to inflict their prejudice on others feigning very righteously their rights are being infringed upon but considering the fact they are predatorial, can't trust'em or believe'em as they have proven time and time again.

it's like someone claiming to be victim of censorship because someone wants to prevent them from actions or speech which hurt others. that everything is a right for them and rights for you will be determined by them also, which they don't have your best interests at heart either but only themselves.

conservative republicans are 1) predatorial 2) dicatorial 3) dishonest/hypocritical. once you realize that is what their makeup is underneath and the jump-off of their base for everything and anything, it is clear.

Since Barack Obama has been in the White House, high ranking military officers have been removed from their positions at a rate that is absolutely unprecedented.Things have gotten so bad that a number of retired generals are publicly speaking out about the 'purg' of the U.S. military that they believe is taking place. As you will see below, dozens of highly decorated military leaders have been dismissed from their positions over the past few years. So why is this happening? What is going on right now is absolutely crazy especially during a time of peace. Is there a deliberate attempt to reshape the military and remove those who don't adhere to the proper 'viewpoints' ? Does someone out there feel a need to get officers that won't cooperate out of the way?

Throughout world history, whatever comes next after a military purge is never good.
If this continues, what is the U.S. military going to look like in a few years?

Perhaps you are reading this and you think that 'purge' is too strong a word for what is taking place. Well, justconsider the following quotes from some very highly decorated retired officers:

-Retired Army Major General Paul Vallely:The White House protects their own. That's why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare. He's intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.

-Retired Army Major General Patrick Brady: There is no doubt he (Obama) is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him.
-Retired Army Lt. General William G. Jerry Boykin

ver the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved for cause.

-Retired Navy Captain Joseph John:I believe there are more than 137 officers who have been forced out or given bad evaluation reports so they will never make Flag (officer), because of their failure to comply to certain views.

A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even young officers, down through the ranks have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House. They are purging everyone and if you want to keep your job just keep your mouth shut. Now this trend appears to be accelerating.

    http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/why-are-dozens-of-high-ranking-officers-being-purged-from-the-u-s-military

    General Vallely's comment:
Absolutely every communist regime on the planet did this as soon as they got in power. I am surprised this communist traitor with his feet up on our furniture in the white house hasn't done this until now!

If I'm not mistaken, that was part of a larger military downsizing... and one we desperately needed (and still need). Lets be honest - we as a nation do not NEED to have a military larger, more powerful, and more costly than the next half dozen or more major world powers combined - it is unnecessary and, honestly, obscene and disgusting. We need to stop pretending we are the world police.

Well, unfortunately for you and your fascist fellows, the American military has a long and proud tradition of political neutrality. It's the law, and every military recruit is instructed in that law.

When I entered military service 44 years ago I was instructed in that law, and when my son entered military service 10 years ago he was instructed in that law. That law didn't begin with Obama comrade, nor should it end with Obama. It's a good law. Unfortunately for you and your ignorant fascist fellows American troops pledge their loyalty to the US Constitution and not to a person or political party. If military members violate that law be they a private or a general they should be prosecuted.

One more thing comrade, citing a wacky conspiracy web site isn't evidence of anything other than wacky right wing conspiracy web sites. Just because a right wing conspiracy web site published something, it doesn't mean it is truthful, because it isn't. Right wing conspiracy web sites are rarely if ever truthful, e.g. Pizzagate, Trump's wiretapped phones, etc.

You do realize that Obama is not even in the goverment anymore, don't you? That kind of destroys your whole paranoid rant.

Huh? You need to improve your reading skills. You realize that isn't my paranoid rant that you just quoted, don't you? I quoted verbatim from General Vallely. It's no sense debating this with a person that can't even read.

So the american generals are "facist fellows" for saying those things -- and you served in the military. Interesting.

Would you consider the Washington Times a right-wing conspiracy as well?

No. Obama's downsizing of the military was unprecedented. It would help if you get your facts straight. Who in the military liked Obama besides the ones he picked as replacements? Names please.

and by the way... I would have given Bernie Sanders serious consideration, but the DNC didn't give me that choice.

Don't worry. We now have a much better communist traitor in power who is giving away top secret information to the Russians and bowing to the Saudis while spitting on our allies.

Your paranoid rant is the parroting of a paranoid rant from Vallely. In either case you were both wrong. Obama did not make us a bunch of commies.

Too bad Obama is not in goverment anymore, now you are going to have to find another liberal to demonize. Good luck on your hunt.

Hmm...so you want people to believe you would give the man whose positions are antithetical to yours "serious consideration"? Please, you aren't communicating with a bunch of dittoheads here comrade. Who do you think you are fooling?

So you think Obama's downsizing of the military was unprecedented? I guess you are not aware of the Civil War, or WW I, WW II, and the end of the Cold War? The fact is, Obama's "downsizing" was modest. Bush 2.0 committed to withdrawing US troops from Iraq before Obama's presidency. Obama just executed Bush's agreement. Obama did draw down US troops in Afghanistan and that's generally considered a good thing. It's that budget thingy. You do realize the budget is finite? Unlike Obama's Republican predecessor, Obama actually had a budget.

Before you go telling others to get their facts straight comrade, you had better make sure you have your facts straight and in typical "conservative tradition" you don't. What does it matter who likes Obama or not in the military? Obama isn't POTUS. You and those like you need to man up and stop using Democrats and Obama and Hillary in particular as a crutch. You folks now have control of all 3 branches of government. You need to man up and stop blaming others for your failures.

I accused you of being a fascist fellow comrade. I specifically stated members of the US military are prohibited by law from displays of partisanship. I suggest you go back and read what I wrote, this time more slowly. Perhaps then you might understand what I wrote. I didn't accuse all American generals or even most American generals of anything comrade. That's you taking liberty with the truth again. I have faith in the American officer corps. Were it not for that faith, I would be very concerned about Trump. I think the American officer corps is the only thing keeping Trump in check, e.g. Mattis managed to persuade Trump not to use torture as an interrogation tool.

I would, because it its. The Washington Times is a publication owned by the Moonie Cult, and it is staunchly "conservative" and nativist. It too pushes unfounded conspiracies just as your previous references do. At least you are consistent comrade, I'll give you that. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/inside-the-sinister-moonie-cult-how-1301689
