    Yes Nebel, you offer-up an interesting alternative . . . . . . why not some kind of ultra-low frequency communication? Just as sensical as ultra-high. Just a differrent system of detectors/receptors. Had not really thought much about that end of the vibrational spectrum - perhaps the harmonics of ultra-low base frequencies, or even beat frequencies, might be more easily detectable. H-m-m-m-m-m! Some kind of organic structures (other simply than 'ears') might be amenable.

    Incredibly, God is supposed to have been even talking to the animals, he talked to the snake, chastising it for it's foray into human communications , so god talked also animalese. as the song said: " If we could talk to the animals--"
    God was a polyglot. .

    Nonetheless, the literature makes it clear that the Semitic tribes who founded what eventually became Judaism and its siblings (Christianity, Islam, Baha'i and Rasta) communicated with each other (and, apparently, also with their God) by use of spoken language. Moreover, that same literature makes it clear that the language is an early form of Hebrew--one that any reasonably well-educated speaker of modern Israeli Hebrew can understand quite easily.

    Hebrew is a member of the Canaanite branch of the Northwestern Semitic group, one of the six closely-related branches of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Oddly, despite the massive historical and cultural history of this language family, no one has ever been able to determine whether it originally arose in Africa or Asia. Historians all over the world would love to find out whether the original Afro-Asiatic people arose in Mesopotamia and then made the trek to northern Africa... or instead, they arose in Africa and one adventurous group emigrated to Asia, where they would establish one of the most-studied civilizations on this planet, not to mention a couple of the human race's most beloved religions.
    Indeed, the reverse is more likely true. There are hundreds of language families strewn over this planet, whose structures, vocabularies and phonetics make it almost 100% certain that they have no relation to each other.
    Apparently God has never had good relations with the Jews. There is plenty of evidence of Hebrew being spoken and written at least a thousand years before Latin became even slightly important.

    I think that the above remark involves some amount of a concept from the novel 1984 called Double Speak.

    There are various concepts which make science incompatible with some (most?) religious beliefs and vice versa.

    By definition various religious beliefs are supernatural, implying (if not meaning) not scientific.

    Scholars, especially secular scholars, generally spend little time and effort on the supernatural. The reason is that science and scholarship have never been able to find even the most pathetic evidence to support the validity of any supernatural phenomena.

    My favorite piece of "evidence" pops up several times every year: a tortilla (one out of hundreds of thousands fried every year) with a scorch mark that is presented to us as a likeness of a figure noted in the Bible... of whom absolutely NO portraits are available for comparison!

    That isn't the most mind-blowing part. The mind-blowing part is how the idiot who buys it has often hundreds of thousands of dollars or sometimes millions in disposable income to buy it off ebay etc.
