Wow, you are right, our process of thought is different. It would never even occur to me to think that there was something wrong with people from the Southern Hemisphere.

You have a habit of bigoted ad homs. You have been called on these several times previously. Something your favorite friend Paddoboy has gotten in trouble for.

I quoted your direct response to origin's post. i.e. you are telling me what is on your mind.

non sequitur means "it does not follow".

    As in this:
Have you participate in an uprising by force ? Many innocent people get hurt.
does not logically follow from this:
...when laws are unjust, then it's our duty to disobey them.

If you refer to said payoff as the direct and indirect consequences of our choices, Yes.

    Otherwise, No.

No problem. I'll take that as a retraction.

That isn't always enough of a reason not to do it.

Possibly for goodness' sake. So evil cannot come into being.

Most times I would rather eat something that is good for my health, even if I don't like it.

Whether my conscious choices are considered good or bad by others... i expect a payoff from those choices... dont you.???
Which makes my pont that we expect a payoff from the choices we make... eg... the payoff you expect from the food choices you make are good taste an good health.!!!

I can see evil "coming into being" as we speak....

Now that I think of it; How does evil come into being? Is it actually becoming a being or is it coming *into* a being??

This is psychology question:"are all good actions benevolent?"

A good action makes the actor feel good: it is selfish.

Good question. Often there are unintended consequences from trying to do good.

If consideration is given to the notion that all people are connected then there is no contradiction between wishing to do well by another and expecting to do well in the first instance.

Selfishness is only a bad thing when pursued to an unnecessary extreme .

Give and take, Moderation in all things etc etc

Unfortunately , as a species we don't do moderation. That's why we are an invasive species. We are beginning to pay the price for our collection greed. Professor Bartlett has an interesting lecture on the "exponential function" and it's consequences of steady growth in a limited space.

Do you think the reason for this is biological?
