How would you remember President Obama? What are the unforgettable things he did for America?

He did his best in the face of overwhelming obstructionism and a "do nothing" turtle Congress that openly stated their goal was to prevent him from accomplishing anything.

He will be missed, especially as our foreign policy becomes more knee-jerk and reactionary in the next four years...

    1) Saved the economy from the jaws of a great depression in the face of zealous Republican opposition and obstruction
    2) Obamacare: the first signficant healthcare reform since Medicare and provided healthcare to millions of Americans
    3) Sustained economic growth in the face of steadfast Republican opposition and obstruction with little to no inflation
    3) Restored sanity and competence to American foreign and domestic policies and cut the deficit by more than 50%.
    4) Found and eliminated Bin Laden along with several other terrorists which had eluded previous administrations
    4) He's just an nice guy: a good father, an honest man, a good husband, and an honorable man. He is a great roll model for all American men. He has inspired millions of Americans.

    bombs
    drones

    secrecy:
The Obama administration set a record again for censoring government files or outright denying access to them last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.

Since Barack Obama entered the White House in 2009, his government has waged a war against whistleblowers and official leakers. On his watch, there have been eight prosecutions under the 1917 Espionage Act – more than double those under all previous presidents combined.
And yet other apparent leaks have gone entirely unpunished or have been treated, as in the case of General David Petraeus, as misdemeanors. As Abbe Lowell, lawyer for one of the Espionage Act eight, Stephen Kim, has argued in a letter to the Department of Justice, low-level officials who lack the political connections to fight back have had the book thrown at them, while high-level figures have been allowed to leak with “virtual impunity”.

    more bombs:
Looking back at President Obama’s legacy, the Council on Foreign Relation’s Micah Zenko added up the defense department’s data on airstrikes and made a startling revelation: in 2016 alone, the Obama administration dropped at least 26,171 bombs. This means that every day last year, the US military blasted combatants or civilians overseas with 72 bombs; that’s three bombs every hour, 24 hours a day.
(stinking bloated bodies rotting in the sun)
    motherless children and childless mothers

A noticeably peculiar use of the language wherein "peace" means bombs, and "transparency in government" means prosecuting those who would share information with the citizenry.
I, for one, am not going to miss that lying murderous sack of shit.

Passed a healthcare plan that gave 20 million Americans healthcare coverage. Helped bring the country out of the Bush recession. Saved the US auto industry. Ended torture and the war in Iraq. Hunted down and killed Bin Laden.

Imagine what you must think of the Republican Party office holders who started all of those wars, hired General Petraeus and slapped his wrists for malfeasance, set up those agencies and regulations for punishing whistleblowers, told all those lies that got so many American soldiers killed for no good reason, and screwed up their medical care of the survivors.

(and often didn't bother with nitpicking stuff like legal prosecution - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_C._Wilson .
You have to be careful when using statistics like that - there are all kinds of reasons why legal prosecution of whistleblowers tends to be rare an administration like W&Cheney's.)

The assistance the USA offered the 40,000 + Yazidi people trapped on a barren mountain top by Daesh and the low impact, low interventionist method used.
The self restraint demonstrated in the face of massacre(s) in Aleppo and resisting repeated and passionate calls for the USA to intervene ( low interventionist policy)
A decision making process that relied on the "best" truth and facts attainable.
The management of the Ebola Crisis.

The strategic support for those wishing to defeat Daesh.

The operation currently under way in Mosul, Iraq and the value being placed on civilian lives, to avoid a repeat of Aleppo if at all possible.

You also have to consider the incredible ever changing unprecedented political complexity that has evolved in regards to Europe, Russia Turkey and the Middle East and how Obama with the tremendous efforts of Kerri and staff have managed to secure alliances when alliances were not even remotely possible.

Keeping his cool when in a world that never seemed to be free of major crisis

A disgusting war individual who managed to screw up lives of so many people, not just in USA, but the rest of the World. During his reign, 25000 bombs were dropped on multitude of nations. During his reign numerous could not afford the so called "affordable" health insurance, because it was too high of a price to pay. During his reign terrorism spread like wildfire and Syria went into state of chaos which slowly starting spreading to other nations. And finally during his reign...Americans lost freedom, he gave up freedom to security agencies, he gave up freedom of those who use facebook, twitter, gmail...for the sake of "security". Now we are all constantly monitored and everything is recorded.

I am happy this man of terror is almost out of power and sanity is back into White House. Of course he is still terrorizing the nation with lies about Russian hacking, lies about Benghazi, lies about his amazing role he had done for the nation.

What exactly has Obama done to USA?

I love how not one of your purported facts is correct...

Oh, and have you neglected to take note that the Republican controlled Congress has chosen to raise the debt ceiling by THREE TRILLION dollars. Yep, spend baby spend... but, don't worry - all this out of control spending is TOTALLY Obama's fault... *shakes head* Goddamn you really are a tool...

Yep... funny, at one time I would have thought intentional misrepresentation of facts was offense worthy... anymore, it seems part and parcel for the course, especially when politics are involved

I guess it is only the intelligent folk that get offended about blatant lies and misrepresentation anymore...

I'd give him a A- to B+. He inherited an unmitigated disaster. There really is no other apt description of what he walked into on January 19, 2009. The economy was in meltdown. The nation was at war in 2 countries. Obama inherited 2 botched wars; the longest wars in US history. And Republicans refused to do anything to stop it and in fact were doing everything possible to exacerbate the crisis.

I knock President Obama for not being more aggressive. I think he should have taken a more aggressive stance against Republicans, and recognized much earlier, that Republicans wouldn't work with him in good faith no matter what he did or didn't do. As a result, we got a much weaker and more flawed Obamacare. Obama didn't play hardball when his opponents were, and was slow to recognize that fact.

Yeah, I wanted single payer! His lack of aggressiveness is why I under-grade him. Also Obama wonderful flailing in Syria and mess of Libya are sort of on him (Hillary actually as she was the war hawk demanding we go in there).
