IQ First a little history The intelligence quotient (IQ) is basically a score resulting from one of several, standardised tests. These tests are designed to assess a person’s intelligence. The abbreviation “IQ” is from psychologist William Stern for the German term Intelligenz-Quotient, Stern’s term for a scoring method for intelligence tests advocated for him in a 1912 book. Historically, an IQ is a score obtained by dividing a person’s mental age score, by administering an intelligence test, a person’s chronological age, both in years and months. The results are multiplied by 100 to arrive at an IQ score. With current IQ tests , the median raw score of the norming sample is defined as IQ 100 and scores each standard deviation (SD) up or down are then defined as 15 IQ points greater or less, although this was not always so historically. By this definition, approximately two-thirds of the population in the US scores between IQ 85 and IQ 115. With about 5% of the US population has scored above IQ 125 and another 5% below IQ 75. Paul Broca (1824-1880) and Sir Francis Galton (1822-1911) were among the first scientists to think about measuring intelligence. They thought they could determine intelligence by measuring the size of the human skull. They assumed that the larger the skull, the smarter the person. Around the same time, scientist Wilhelm Wundt (1832-1920) used introspection - the human ability to reflect on their own thoughts - as the measure of intelligence. Nowadays their methods and ideas are considered to be outmoded and are for sure no longer used for IQ tests, but they form a fundamental part of the history of the IQ test. And some interesting facts Remember, the IQ test performance is an approximation of how intelligent you are with vocabulary which determines exactly how well one is able to communicate and thus is a characteristic of mental ability. The average of university students worldwide is 115 and prestigious university students are 130 in the top 2%. Im one of those people who dont score good on tests... but if i did im guessin that i woud score real high.!!!
Aside from obvious spelling errors, your post is respectable. Try it while high if you will but I wouldn't that's just asking for a dumb response from the test.
Ha... the only real iq test ive taken was in the 4th grade an i scored 89 on it (i have proof)... an that was over 55 years ago so no tellin how high my score is by now wit all the new stuff ive learned.!!!
Good for all of you, it's a test of our cognitive memory of, well, words. I'll post another test when we have reached critical mass. Find out which intelligence type you have with this test.
IQ tends to decrease later in life, not increase. Brain cells die and are not replaced. As for your writing skill (or lack of it), writing is a skill which we begin to learn at a very early age when our brains are in their best condition, and continue to improve up through adolescence and beyond. So if you have never learned to write correctly, it's ridiculous for you to claim that your intelligence is higher than normal. Your IQ is probably 95 at the highest.
nice, I knew most of you would score well let's see this thread tried out by a third of the users here then we can move on.
There were multiple correct answers to some of these questions. Also evident Christian cultural bias in the "firmament" question.
Hmm all I can say is that it's not a perfect test but you did almost score perfectly. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
That's probably why it asked for the best/closest answer, not the only answer. It says up front that it is obviously English-language biased (which it is). And the English language is intricately tied into English-speaking culture, necessarily.
IQ tests do not have anything to do with creativity . nor the ability to question . My score , 20yrs ago , 130 .
