looks like a Republican president , house, and Senate . . . Guess we are going to say goodbye to any and all social safety nets, corporate regulations , and environmental protections.
If Trump wins can we trust the result? Given the amount of Russian vested interest in this election result don't you think hacking the voting machines etc would be high on their agenda.
worse .. much worse is that Trump can claim a mandate to do and say essentially what he likes (as demonstrated throughout his campaign) eg . his supporters have made grabbing a woman acceptable.... his supporters have made hate speech acceptable. his supporters have made bankruptcy acceptable. and so on....
Well let's hope he is really a politician at heart...makes promises he won't keep and says anything the mob wants to hear and privately holds some sort of rational view. I blame the whole USA firstly for underestimating him, secondly for thinking ordinary people will vote with reason and well just because you could let this happen. If Trump is not elected what will be his next move to become President. I he does lose, given if he does it will be close, what will be his next move as I suspect he would be geared for a loss as well as a win. Alex
It is often said, in my country anyway, "Only in America!" Actually, I'm probably dreaming and will wake up shortly. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It's a bit like that, isn't it? I think everyone on our side of the pond is just incredulous at this point. And if the world markets are any indication, that sense of shock is being felt world wide. Considering how many times he has flipped flopped on his policies, that is the best hope. What a horrific outcome though. Absolutely horrific outcome.
I have a sneaky suspicion that this election may suffer further unprecedented events in the very near future... For example they may discover that indeed the election vote was indeed rigged (as trump himself declared as a smoke screen) No not by the democrats but by the republicans... Hence his early campaign statement about shooting someone and still getting elected.
Trump's not actually capable of governing the country, you know. Neither is the Republican Party. You do understand that, right? What that means? What happened after 2000?
One of the reasons why Australia relies on a hard paper vote is to ensure a genuine recount is possible
And the fun begins. Lets see what happens. Im curious what he will do now almost like watching a play. Wow, the house and senate.
oh oh.... "Xi Jinping, President of China is on the phone to Putin" now about that trade and military co-operation deal.....
That isn't how freedom of speech works. You can't claim to support freedom of speech and then simultaneously say you would censor messages you don't agree with (which is what colleges do). That's the opposite of freedom of speech. When liberals can't even accept a successful black woman commencement speaker because she is on the wrong side of the political aisle, that's an anti-freedom of speech disgrace.
The pendulum swings both ways. Obama represented a hard swing to the left. We has a chance back in 2012 for a soft swing back to the right with Romney. Since we missed that chance and just kept swinging left, we got a more severe swing to the right 4 years later.
No duh. Why dont you tell that to the rightwing militia? Since when does the left actually censor right wing opinion? You mean how the right did by controlling media outlets when they had control and just by numbers who oppressed/ridiculed opposition or different views? Do tell how the right is innocent. Puleeze.
Obama hard left...seriously? That just shows how far and how extreme the Republican Party has become.
Apparently the Canadian immigration web site has just crashed For all you highly skilled American professionals I am sure Australia could accommodate you in some way... (just don't come in by boat ok??! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! )
Australian dollar falls 1.7% with 32B wiped off the market and that's just early days... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-09/us-election-markets-clinton-trump/8009004
Utter nonsense. Obama was a standard center-right politician, not a swing left at all - hard or otherwise.
