I have the same exact ability and I'm looking for guidance because I know it's a gift from God.

Unless your vision has as much magnification as an electron microscope, I doubt that what you experience as seeing is external.

This presentation may be of interest. http://www.ted.com/talks/isaac_lids...m_medium=email&utm_content=button__2016-10-06

Frankly I have no clue what the OP title is asking.
That statement makes no sense. Are we talking about "internal" particles or *external* particles?

Floaters occur when you have looked at the sun and it has burned cells in your retina. Stewie (Family says it best):

Doesn't that suck. God could give you the winning lottery numbers or the brain of Einstein, but instead he gives you the ability to see floaters. You must be thinking, "Gee, what a swell gift God!"

I also have the same thing. Not floaters. Not prolonged exposure to bright lights get. I call it "particle rain." The best way to describe it is innumerable tiny white particles zipping in all directions. As if steams of raindrops sometimes being scattered in one direction as if blown by wind. It's always visible.

Nobody I've ever described this to has had any idea what I'm experincing. I'm a scientist. I rely on evidence based conclusions. So of course I'm not jumping to any. I just have no way to test whether it's an internal neurological manifestation or something external.

^^^^ This the best description of what I'm experiencing.

Why don't you guys pay a visit to your eye doctor, who will be able engage in a two-way dialogue, and may well have an answer for you?

As mentioned, nobody I have explained this to has heard of what I'm describing. This includes several ophthalmologists and my corneal specialist. It should be noted that I had a corneal transplant in my left eye after being diagnosed with keratoconus (coning of cornea). When I cover my left die though, I still experience the same phenomenon.

There are few medical conditions, you should consider..

    1. Hearing some noise, even when there is no noise present.

    2. Smelling something even when no odor is present.

    3. And..

I see colors, and wavy paterns. Sometimes I can control them.

I agree with Dave but you might want to see a psychiatrist as well. And lay off the mushrooms. Just sayin...

    Yes. They are called floaters.

The other day, walking out the shower I just happened to notice the reflection of my face and eyes in a partly misted mirror. Each of my eyes in the mirror had rainbows round them. I could close each eye in turn to see a rainbow round the open eye. Funny how I have never noticed this before in all of the showers I have taken. Do you think I have some kind of superhuman power? I will try to use this power for the benefit of humanity.

It is a normal visual thing. Read the earlier posts. Ignore the posts that talk about super power or how science can't explain or nobody else can see what they see, yadda, yadda, yadda...

I've read this thread for a long time, but I've never seen this one written about. There are other things to be seen in your eyes other than just floaters.

I see the floaters from time-to-time, but I also see filamentary structures. They are string-like, but unlike a string they do have a small width, channel-like. They are not straight either; they bend and seem to fold back on themselves. Within the width they are somewhat transparent, and sometimes within the width I see real dark black spots, like floaters but not fuzzy like them -- they are smaller and more point like and have sharp edges. I swear that sometimes I have also seen particles move within the width/channels of these structures, as if the channels really are channels.

To see them (and regular floaters) I have to be looking at a solid background, like looking at a featureless sky or a solid and pretty smooth light-color wall. I've seen these things for at least 20 years, though they don't disrupt my vision any, and I pretty well have to be looking for them.

Now -- what they are and why I see them: I have glaucoma and take eye drop medication to control the pressure. One side effect of some of the different drops is that they dilate blood vessels in the eyes, temporarily and sometimes it is even a permanent effect. I've thought long and hard about this, and have come to the conclusion that I am seeing dilated blood vessels on the back of my eye projected onto my retina -- or something along those lines.

I've brought this up to my ophthalmologist, but maybe I'm not explaining it good enough as she writes it off as simple floaters. They are not simple round floaters. She doesn't seem to be too concerned about it; there other things she's more concerned about in the short time of the examination, and they don't seem to bother me any.

I know that sounds cuckoo. Wondering if anybody else has seen this.

If she's not worried you should not be

The floaters as described take various shapes and as I recall are dead cell skins

The dark spots inside are probably the nucleus of the cell which is taking longer to dissolve

Check with your ophthalmologist to make certain

Not sure if this is correct if you are describing eye anatomy correctly

The retina receive light entering the eye

The blood vessels providing blood to the retina are behind the retina

I can't see anyway those blood vessels can project onto the front of the retina

    Again see your ophthalmologist

Most clinics have leaflets which explain complicated medical aspects

Obtain one which fits with your concerns and with your ophthalmologist make your own notes on the leaflet
