US plunges into war with Yemen

Anyone who believes the United States is not fighting enough wars in the Middle East can be happy this week. We have just plunged into another one. Twice in recent days, cruise missiles fired from an American destroyer have rained down on Yemen. The Pentagon, a practiced master of Orwellian language, calls this bombing “limited self-defense.” American forces were already involved in Yemen’s civil war. Since 2002, our drone attacks have reportedly killed more than 500 Yemenis, including at least 65 civilians. We are also supplying weapons and intelligence to Saudi Arabia, which has killed thousands of Yemenis in bombing raids over the last year and a half — including last week’s attack on a funeral ...

First off, you're Russian remember? Are you saying Russia rained down missiles on Yemen? If you are, your beloved Mother Russia would need a ride to get there.

So stop the nonsense, and be honest.

I see you have a flare of the dramatic and hyperbole.

Let's be honest here. US naval vessels returning fire after being fired upon is hardly plunging into war with Yemen. It's just eliminating a threat. Self defense is a perfectly acceptable response under international law. Destroying the launch facility in Yemen was an appropriate response. It's not raining down cruise missiles over a much of Yemen. It just eliminated a missile launch facility that was used to attack US warships in international waters. The US didn't "plunge into war with Yemen" as you have asserted. The US has no reason or desire to "plunge into Yemen". Its naval vessels merely defended themselves after being fired upon. There is no wrong in that.

The US has for some time conducted limited anti-terror operations in Yemen. But it hasn't used US troops to do so. Yemen is a failed state and the US is not involved in the Yemeni civil war. The US doesn't have troops in Yemen.

The sole business of war is killing people.
Being pro war makes you a killer by proxy.

He certainly does, in many respects, that verge on untruths.

I really don't believe there are too many people that are pro war, just for the sake of it.
I'm not up on the incident, but I certainly take joe's point over and above the usual "hyperbole" by Timojin.
I've seen him in action pushing his agenda many times from something as simplistic as clouds, to most theoretical science and physics.
Of course the US was justified in replying in limited fashion as they did.
    And science also, particularly cosmology.
