Whatever it is, please change it back. Interpreting your posts is always a, shall we say, "ambitious" undertaking but with this new font it's downright challenging. Maybe it's just my old eyes or, even more likely, my tired old brain but still - to what degree can you control the point size? Perhaps increasing it a smidgen would help. Just my two cents... Wow. Palatino has been around for a while; Book Antiqua, apparently, was derived from it. It used to come stock on Macs; I would imagine it still does. I'm curious about your display. I'm sorry if I alarmed you - that was not my intent. Part of my work involves designing logos and other decorative personalization in Adobe Illustrator so I'm somewhat conversant with fonts. I literally have over 60,000 on my computer, including 23 variations of Palatino (I checked) - not all installed at the same time of course... Your image is quite clear but the actual text appears "fuzzy" - smaller point size and looking as if the kerning was off. Not totally indecipherable but hard to read, for me anyway. You know, I'm not sure what question to ask. URW Palladio L looks better on my system if I boost the zoom one step, so, you know, it's like some of the other images in the thread. Georgia doesn't look as good at the point size my blog's CSS sets; Century Schoolbook L, which I use all over the place, doesn't look quite as good here, at the size our CSS demands. Meanwhile, I have a "Tribun ADF Med Std" from Arkandis (see #19↑ that looks gorgeous on my blog, but is too thick when it renders at Sciforums' point size. Meanwhile, to be honest, I haven't seen display text like that in ... uh ... well, I guess I have a Windows machine upstairs with font smoothing disabled. I would probably freak out if I saw my blog on that machine. But, yeah. Wow. That is certainly low-res Georgia you're looking at.

I think Tribun was put together by the guy who designed Miller, which in turn has a presence in newspapers. There's too much, though, I don't understand about software. In the HTML5 API period I do occasionally run into weird circumstances where I'm pretty sure I don't have this or that font on my system, yet I can see it; and there are also times when something breaks, and it looks like the site is running low-res fallback text, and I have no idea why that would happen. But it's possible something about this CSS, that font, and your system compelled some manner of baseline fallback. I just couldn't possibly explain it, except every once in a while one or another of these sites glitches, and whatever text I get is like looking at Windows on a CRT in the 90s. URW Palladio L just keeps looking better the larger it renders; LibreOffice Writer stops at 96-point. Tribun looks great, too, large, but it's also a really good newspaper font, like Times New Roman, which is why it looks so gorgeous as the WordPress CSS specifies it. I feel like it goes through an awkward phase, though, between about 14- and 20-point, and something about the way it renders at Sciforums isn't quite as smooth as it is through WordPress; the spacing around italics is off. Or, you know, so says me.
