Sadly, yes, it is true, Quantum Quack.

We were informed by Billy T's wife that Billy passed away on the 5th of August.

The Sciforums community was blessed with his contributions over the years and will sadly miss him. My condolences to his family and all those who have and will suffer his loss. R.I.P Billy T

Death is said to be an illusion of change. It was said by a friend, "We are not just a physical body having a physical experience, we are a spirit having a physical experience." There is one spirit having individual physical bodies. We are all in this together no matter the appearance. Blind nature is not the same as God.

He was the only member with whom I could practice my Portuguese.

In a more serious vein, Billy was a good citizen. He lived in Baltimore (Maryland's largest city, about 50 miles north of Washington DC) in the early 1950s. He participated in the lunch-counter sit-ins that comprised one of the first stirrings of the civil rights movement for African-Americans.

He was at least ten years older than me (b. 1943). I didn't get involved in the civil rights movement until the 1960s.

Yes, and a reminder to all of the males present to get their PSA checked starting in their 40's and to keep an eye on that afterwards as well.

Prostate cancer is the number 2 cancer killer of men and it took our friend away from us.

But don't panic if it is elevated. PSA is famous for false +ves!

....and also for being about the only way to find if you have a developing cancer in your prostate! Billy and I have both been there, done that. It wasn't a false positive for either of us.
