    Post your hard science-fiction predictions!

I have always enjoyed trying to imagine what is really going to happen in the world of technology. For example, it appears that typing will soon be a lost art. Voice-to=text is getting better all the time and the need to type will probably mostly disappear. But then I wonder about a busy office. In some settings, voice to text may not ever work. In either case, I would imagine that most children just born will never learn how to type or have to worry about text entry.

One of my favorite ideas, though not necessarily a great one to imagine, is that computers and humans will one day be capable of infecting each other with viruses. Some leaky self-replicating biological computer is surely going to be the death of us all one day!

    Wiki - Biological Computing

With that, I'll guess that viruses common to humans and computers are several decades away.

A computer virus isn't a biological virus. How could it possible infect a human? Most animal viruses don't even infect humans.

Most people until recently didn't type either so I'm sure it will be that way again.

I think people will have a lot more free time in the future as less effort will be required to support every. I think people will work some during their peak years and that's about it.

People will also start to move back to smaller towns and the quality of life will improve in that way. The craziness that our government has become will improve and government will be more of a local thing.

I guess you missed the part about biological computers, including the link and quote?

Almost forgot to add something about this. Many supposed approaches to biological computing use human tissue, and in particular, human brain tissue.

Well, we aren't exactly the most creative bunch, are we. LOL! I constantly do this as a mental hobby.

Smart Toilets: Unless we push in a different direction, it would seem the day is coming when your toilet will analyze your excrement [already in the works for the elderly]. But your employer and insurance company will be able to connect to your toilet and get the results... allowing them to control your diet and health habits.

I've always said that smart toilets should be programmed with a sense of humor and make comments and wise cracks when you do your duty.

    Just a small prediction...

Even though I know the mechanism of the Artificial Intelligence...we do not have any hardware to do that.

The real AI would be done in about 500 years from now with organic life forms as a base system and some molecular technology included. For that we need to develop specialized carbon nano tubes and those Molecular systems....including Quantum entanglement communication systems.that the AI would need.

That is a long way off...like 500 years, unless you want to start working now...

Eventually, society will mirror that of the post-apocalyptic society depicted in the movie, ''Divergent.'' Everyone will be separated into ''factions,'' based on their inherent skills and personalities. And it will seem like a perfect society, but it isn't. That's my ''prediction.''

I predict the economy will evolve to the point where few will have to work. People's basic needs will be taken care of by the self-running economy. It will be more of a privilege to work and only those with very unique skills will even be qualified to work in this economy.

Therefore, the focus will be away from money and more towards one's social skills. Individuals and societies will be focused more on cooperation. Why? Because it's in everyone's best interest. Life is more pleasant and fulfilling that way.

Advances will still take place. What are now "careers" will be thought of more as "hobbies" in the future. People will still want/need fulfilling lives. This will actually be an improvement of the existing state of affairs where work that is fulfilling is the exception rather than the rule.

Wars will be a thing of the past as there will be no economic basis for wars. There will still be pettiness but society will have evolved to the point that at least everyone agrees that certain behaviors are petty and society works to reduce that rather than band into tribes to increase it.

Finally, through whatever mechanism, society will have evolved so that most actions taken aren't due to addressing some least common denominator issue (terrorism, health, economy, trouble makers, etc.) but rather the most important issues of the day.

    The end...

It has started now...Look at many factions of Muslim religion fighting among themselves and are fighting with the Christian groups who are trying to destroy them....and among Christians, there are serious sub-culture too.

Then Christians are fighting with Eastern religions like China for the last 35 years....(I was there...I know).

So, it is a mess here. Except, my prediction says that by 2029, we will have a serious Asteroid that may come close to Planet Earth. Then, may be everyone started working together...just may be...

Good Idea. I have the Economic Ideas that worked somewhat in China, but no one else got it. So, I predict about 500 years, before everyone realize how to pick up stuff from the Chinese Model and go for it. (The usual feedback mechanism)

Then I will be back in 500 years and help the new Space Ships and move to a new Planet...since our planet will be frozen again...(look at the big picture)
