I would like to thank everyone who have taken the time to note that they have liked my posts which today passed the century mark. Thank you all for the encouragement I certainly appreciate your kind reception of my posts.
I greatly respect the privilege to be here particulary as I am not a scientist and of average interlect, which may be boasting to be above my real level.
I observe we have members who are very clever, well read and educated, and very articulate.
Again it is a privilege to be on the same forum.
    Thank you all very much.

It's interesting to me also. I told about it 2-3 times in threads. In my thread 'TRANSFORMER' you called me charlatan but I didn't know the meaning of charlatan when I knew the meaning then I said sorry to you and about me(school student). May be it was not clear to you cause of my English language(that 'brucep' said in that thread).

Yes I'm sorry for calling you that. I would not have dreamt of doing so if I had known you were at school.

I am surprised that you are here but I am glad to find there is a representative of our future here with many folk from the past. I am old, near 70, and would like to let you know being old is not that bad, in fact I find it the most enjoyable part of my life. The thing I did not expect is you dont feel old, well I dont, and that is a real surprise. So I say old age is not to be pitied from the outside it looks so different.
I find even now I look at others younger than me 55 to 60 who I think are old and I feel sorry for them. So one doesnt really grow old unless you tell yourself you are old.
Positive self talk is the key to happiness.. Never talk badly about others or yourself or anything.
When we are young we often seem to care more about what others think of us, and often we respect folk in later years you will regard as fools.
In my view the most difficult thing I had to deal with when I was young was peer pressure.
My peers would often try to lead me astray and when I resisted they would call me weak. But as the years passed I realised I was stronger than them because I had learnt before any of them to be my own man.
And when you have that high self esteem not only do others respect you but seek you out as a true friend.
With high self esteem you can help others and not be selfish.
I say that if you help enough people to get what they want you will never have to worry about what you want.

I am sure you will gain benefit not only from the information pressented here every day but I would hope you can observe both good and bad behaviour that will guide you and help build your character.
I wish you all the best and thank you for sharing with us a little about yourself.
    Have a great day.
    Alex

No sir ! It's about not your fault that I think because personally I'm little bit serious, so you were right, charlatan is charlatan but not genius. I only didn't know the meaning of this.

I'm learning more from you all.

I stoped my study from school cause of some strange reasons(that is may be paranormal/psychological/other problem )

Day after day it(strange reasons) was making me alone(nobody feels good with me because they are going on cause of hormone and genetically) but was teaching me incredibly(how to think, how to find my faults, fight with fishy habits and more). After all it is a invisible teacher. Because before it (strange reasons) I was not so good guy. I'm happy now because it's going well.

The "likes" of my posts had passed 100.
That fact prompted me to write my post as I thought it was very nice that folk had liked so many of my posts. Reaching the century in likes caused me to reflect how fortunate I am to be here with so many very intelligent people.
I am 69 years so not far off 100
I hopethat clears up any misunderstanding.

Well I suppose you could say that I come from the Elizabethan era my Mum took me to glimpse Queen Elizabeth the second when she visited Australia in the early fifties.
So you could call me in total a frayed Elizabethan ruff....
In all the time I have been in Sydney visiting I have not seen anyone with a full beard and yet up home if you go to the local pub only 60 klms away everyone has beards. And it is not a fashion thing. In my case it is a hit back at my days of slavery and having to wear a three piece pin strip suit and shave every day, sometimes twice a day. Thanks for the tip re the double century of likes but I will pass I dont like to travel and I certainly dont want to visit the Amazon.

Well at the local pub... But I agree totally with you because getting to old age is not easy. When I look back there have been occassions where I could have died if not for quick action, timing or luck.

. But after only 8 years here I have hit the half century mark in likes.

I consider myself fortunate that SciForums has the AltTheory sub-forum, where I am allowed to play out my compulsion of having my own personal layman version of cosmology. BTW, I'm a few years older than you, take no medication, and still can mow my own lawn (takes 2 hours), and that is every week at this time of the year (in Florida right now).

I can barely get up off my hands and knees, but probably can do a few. I wear glasses. But we are getting off topic, so don't ask me about my hearing (hearing aid in each ear :shrug

Getting off topic does not seem to be a problem around here so I would not worry.
I bet you are going to make us really feel inadequate by telling us you do one hundred a day and you can read the paper at ten feet away.
Now if you do I hope you share with us the reasons why.
I was extremely fit up until two years ago when I developed a serious back problem I was most fortunate to avoid the wheelchair.
Prior to I trained and exercised four hours a day four days a week. I won my last arm wrestle at 63 or 65 (mmm dates are getting harder to recall) and the runner up had beaten all contenders in the pub. I often wonder if my back was damaged from my stupidity but the doctors would not could not give me a reason why my back had problems.
I am happy I can walk, I use a walker so I have a place to rest and my legs are on fire but I wont use pain killer for fear of becoming addicted.
My mind seems reasonable for my age but I am not really sure.
I stay positive take no meds dont drink or smoke these days and certainly have given away arm wrestling and the intensive training.
The reason I posted my op was it dawned on me how tryping replies etc here has helped me feeling the burning for a while, it gets my mind off it... It gets to me because it does not stop.. Its bearable but probably like that drip drip drip water torture...
I do like interacting with others which I havent really done much of for near twenty years. I got so sick of people and working out their problems I withdrew to do what suited me, threw away the suits and ties and forgot fashion and grooming. Should have done it much earlier.
So share your thoughts on health and happiness.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Do worry about editing etc I get your meaning and that is all that is important. I did work where I had to prepare court orders from the jugdes hand written notes fix his grammer and make the orders sound important and correct so I resent being perfect in writing as it reminds me of that job.
I hope you have a great day.
