..how would you spend that money? How would it change your life? Would you use it just for yourself or would you try to make the world a better place?

I refuse to be intimidated by telephone numbers regardless of how large they are. I would however get rid
of ninety five per cent of it just because I would have zero reason to keep it. And no that is not an example
of altruism merely one of practicality. I would also answer any verbal questions with a smile for it is by far
the most efficient way of responding to the rather predictable. And it is confusing for those actually asking
the questions because they are not sure what you are thinking but at some point they would stop inquiring

I would buy a little bungalow for myself here in Portland with some nice trees, and then save a few million in a high interest-bearing account to live off of. The rest I'd donate to cutting edge research in the medical field: cures/preventions for alzheimer's, autism, cancer, and stem cell research. I'd also probably help out my siblings, but only once, not on an ongoing basis.

I would buy some more lottery tickets.

I would develop or buy a powered wheel chair with catapiller tracks and a single level house.
Maybe a car with just hand controls.

And a restaurant so I need not cook my meals.

I would build women's refuses around Australia where mothers and children could escape abusive and dangerous partners.

Instead of buying the ticket, I'd cut out the middle man and give the dollar to charity.

I read this, like, three times.

There are hints of having to with with winning a lottery, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what telephone numbers have to do with anything, or why people would be asking you lots of questions.

It's a tough call. I would be faced with the question of how much I should give to my children. Free money can ruin a young life.

I have a friend to was given a monthly sum for years - just enough to discourage him from needing to make a career.

I won one hundred dollars in a lottery once but it was all gone in less than a year.

Realistically if you won one hundred million you would be faced with many problems.

You would have to retain lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, body guards, tax specialists and many others simply to manage that wealth.

I wonder if it would be a blessing or a burden.

I have nothing yet I am happy and content.
I enjoy the simple things, eat modestly, dress to match the climate rather than fashion and with my nearly useless legs avoid travel.

The only folk I know who have won a first prize ended up with nothing after only 18 months, one chap won it twice yet wasted it.

Actually I would not accept $100,000,000 for myself, I really dont need much to enjoy my final days and certainly it would be a burden seeing lawyers etc. And unfortunately building safe homes wont make those problems go away.

My favorite line from The Big Lebowski:

"If I won a huge wad of cash I'd take, like, half it and spend it on a huge party for all my friends, with unlimited booze, hookers and drugs and everything.
    *shrug*
And the rest of it I'd prob'y just fritter away...."

DaveC : telephone numbers is a cryptic reference to large quantities of money. And if I did
win the lottery I would have to say how much and what exactly I planned upon doing with
it to any one who asked. So then rather than do that I would opt for smiling instead which
requires far less effort though it does not answer questions. But for me it is still preferable

I have been thinking about that. I suppose I wouldn't change my life drastically, buy a house perhaps and travel more. Allthough I would love to win money it would be more satisfying to earn it. But then again, who cares?

Why do you say that river?

Besides travelling to Australia to meet your hero "pad" how would you spend the money?

I think I read it last Friday but for some reason I forgot Friday along with your post.

And yes I have a problem with your spending because you did not state the percentages so how do I know that most will not go to the space company with a minimal percentage to charity.

You are too casual with the way you seek to spend a hypothetical fortune. Are you with the Government?

    Personal:
A small flat in London ("When you are tired of London, you are tired of life." Dr. Johnson.)
Visit the major Art Galleries of the world.
    Attend major sporting events.

    Project:
My home town depended upon the seaside holidays of yesteryear. The onset of the package holiday in the 1960s devastated its economy.
I also have a love of film.
Rebuild cinemas in the town and establish an year round festival of film that would attract visitors from around the country and beyond.
