There is an increasing number of sources ( http://www.moonofalabama.org/2016/0...from-lebanon-with-saudi-and-turkish-help.html is only one example) who point to the danger of Saudi Arabia and Turkey using Sunni and Wahabi forces in Lebanon to open a new front in the Syrian war. The point is that with the Jihadi highway closed, and further progress of the Syrian army in Latakia, only Idlib remains for support of rebels and weapons from Turkey. This remains, of course, a support line for some time, but not in the long run. Transporting weapons and reinforcements to Lebanon by the sea seems sufficiently easy now and this route may be much harder to close for the Syrian army than the Idlib one, even if only because the route Lebanon -> Golan (controlled by Israel) -> Syria together with the direct Lebanon -> Syria border is a much larger border than the Tukey -> Idlib border. So, I'm afraid that the Syrian civil war will be extended to a Lebanon civil war by Turkish and Saudi support of Lebanese Salafists with weapons. First of all, the Daesh forces who potentially endanger the supply route to Aleppo have lost seriously, 13 villages have been liberated over the last day, in the region near the southern bank of Jabboul Lake. Claims https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/syrian-army-liberates-3-villages-isis-southeast-aleppo/ Al Nusra, the Syrian Al Qaida and good friend of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, has started two offensives during the last days. This is good news, because above failed to reach anything. The first offensive was South of Aleppo. The actual one was North of Hama, and directed against four villages which have used the ceasefire agreement to sign a reconciliation agreement and have given the military control of the villages to the Syrian army. Which seems to have been able to defend the villages against Nusra. Near Damascus, in another region where Al Nusra as well as the local Salafists have not agreed to any ceasefire, the rebel-held territory has been split into two parts, and taken control of a road from the Marj As Sultan aviabase to Damascus. In the Qalamoun-mountains the Syrian army has taken complete control over a gas pipeline from some oil-rich Homs regions to Damascus. They seem sufficiently sure that Daesh will be unable to break it again, so that the repair of the pipeline has been started. It will take quite a long time, half a year or so, but this is an important piece for the infrastructure of Damascus. Similarly, the progress of the Syrian army against Daesh in Eastern Aleppo has already had consequences for Aleppo itself, they have now, again, water and electricity. In Latakia, the fighting for the last famous and heavily defende point, Kabane, has started. Some hills South of this village have been taken. In this region there was no ceasefire all the time, the main force here is Al Nusra anyway.

Look at the map, which is completely off. As everybody can tell you who has followed the news. A reliable source would not illustrate an actual article with a map which remembers vaguely the situation one year ago or so. So how old it is? Two years? Three years? It is certainly not from the last half year. Take any actual map and find 10 differences.

The fact is a very credible new agency published that map and represented it as current just a few days ago.
Ok, the fact is that the map is deadly wrong. Ok, you believe blindly, nothing else was expected from such a propaganda believer. I have written the "find ten differences" out on fun, let's see if I find so many errors. The brown dot on the top, in the yellow domain, Northwest of Aleppo, is Nubl and Zahra, two Shiite towns. Was indeed encircled by the terrorists over a long time, almost three years. Error 1: It has no border with the Kurdish controlled region around Afrin Northeast of it. In reality, it has. Error 2: It has no connection to the main Syrian territory. In reality the siege has been broken, and it is now connected with the main Syrian territory. Error 3: The Jihadi highway from the Turkish border near Azaz to the region of Aleppo is yet open. In reality, it is closed. Error 4: The Kurdish canton Afrin has no border with Daesh. In reality, it has. Kaft Naseh and Ahras are now Kurdish controlled and border with Harbul which is Daesh-controlled. Let's look, then, South of Aleppo. Error 5: The whole region from Chan Tuman to Al Hader is attributed to the rebels, but it is, in fact, already a quite long time under control of the Syrian army. Let's now go East of Aleppo. There is also a very small brown dot. This is the Kuweiris airbase, which was, indeed, also under siege for almost three years. Error 6: The siege no longer exists, there is a connection between the main Syrian-controlled regions and the Kuweiris airbase. Error 7: There is now a quite large region around the Kuweiris airport liberated. So, the small point would have to be much greater. Let's go East. The next great victory against Daesh was that the Kurds have taken control of the Tishreen dam. Error 8: On the map, the Tishreen dam is attributed to Daesh, but in reality controlled by the Kurds. Error 9: The advances of the Kurds in the direction of Raqqa are missed. Error 10: The whole region around Shaddadi is attributed to Daesh. In reality, it is controlled by the Kurds, which are now around 60 km from Deir Ezzor, on the map this would be around 140 km. Ok, enough, a small stripe on the North was already sufficient to find the 10 errors, there are more errors in the map. Compare all this with reasonable maps, say from http://www.sciforums.com/threads/events-in-syria-and-iraq-thread-2.155302/page-3#post-3363172 or http://militarymaps.info/ or http://syria.liveuamap.com/ They have also some differences, which is natural given that there is often contradicting information from different sides, and those who manage the maps have to decide who is more reliable. But they are certainly not that completely off as this Al Jazeera map.
Well, as has been endlessly pointed out to you, you don't have credible references. You cite sources which are owned and controlled by Putin and Assad. That's like ignoring overwhelming evidence of guilt and just accepting the denial of a murder as gospel truth. Now that works in Mother Russia and in the parts of Syria still controlled by Assad, but it doesn't work in the rest of the world - especially the Western world. You summarily and without merit dismiss facts which are not consistent with your love of Mother Putin and Assad. The unfortunate fact for you is the Al Jazeera article and map are correct. One day you might wake up, but I'm not betting on it.

All those terrorists Mother Putin claimed to be fighting are still there. Mother Putin appears to be turning tail and running a la Afghanistan. I guess Syria became to expensive for him. Supplying his troops in Syria isn't cheap. Supporting Putin's military adventures in Ukraine, Georgia and now Syria isn't cheap. Putin clearly hasn't achieved all of his previously stated objectives in Syria. ISIS is still alive and well in Syria and Putin is withdrawing - echos of Afghanistan.
