As I said before we need to restore The Fairness Doctrine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

We need restrictions preventing congressmen, congressional staffers, high level government employees, and their families from working as lobbyists while in office and for at least 10 years after leaving office. That breaks the K Street revolving door. One of the reason SEC regulation has been so lax is because the officials running the SEC often leave the SEC to work as lobbyists or for the firms they regulate.

Elected officials and high ranking public officials should have but one loyalty and that is to the nation and those whom they are statutorily suppose to represent. That isn't the case today.

And personally, I think campaigns should be publicly financed and limitations on campaign spending should be severe and equitable. All voices should be heard equally. Some voices should not drown out others simply because they have more money. Our elected officials spend to much time begging for money in order to fund their reelection campaigns.

    No, I'm not.
The repeated act of supporting rightwing authoritarian legislation and policies, justifying one's actions by invoking rightwing authoritarian principles and ideology, and so forth, does make one a rightwing authoritarian - possibly a reasonable one, as Hillary is, but certainly not a leftwing or libertarian politician.

Nobody said Hillary was an extremist - I described her as ideologically equivalent to a moderate, Eisenhower Republican. That's not an extreme position.

For one thing, employment non-compete clauses are routine in private industry. It's completely standard for an executive in a competitive industry to have signed an employment contract forbidding him from taking employment at a competitor's firm, among other restrictions on his future career. So there's no reason we couldn't forbid Congressmen and officials at regulatory oversight agencies from taking jobs lobbying Congress or representing industries they were supposed to have been regulating.

    Just an example.

The Demotcratic debates correlate with intellectually honest public servants while the Republican debates correlate with self serving narcistic sociopaths. What I find shocking is the reasoning folks have for supporting candidates that openly want to destroy our democratic form of government. IE us. The evangelicals want the Holy Bible to become the constitution. Then they can decide what's constitutional. Watching some of the local electorate interviews an elderly women was asked why she doesn't like Clinton. She looked perplexed for the answer then said 'maybe because she's a Washington insider'? I wonder where she heard that?

Very informative Joe. That's why libertarianism is a useless governing philosophy. Poloticos touting liberatarian ideals actually don't believe in libertarian ideals. They're a bunch of self serving anarchists. Just like what happened in Russia.

While I'm just another college white kid supporting Sanders,
If he loses, I will for the sake of my future children and this earth put my vote for Hillary over any Republican....

Both the Democrats have what it takes to do what's right for Americans. None of the Republicans really know what that means. Maybe Governor Kasich knows what it means but based on his entire philosophy I don't want to find out the hard way. Otherwise they're a bunch of self serving sociopaths. If you can't recognize that then I'd pray for you if I believed in God. Otherwise I wish you the best. Rubio is financed by neocons and backstabbers. We've had enough of that with baby bush. Good analogy Joe.

Hope you're enjoying your college experience. If you felt like saying what you're studying it would be cool. The thing I love about Bernie is this is him. He's here because he would like to save us from the oligarchy and everything they stand for. He wants the constitution to be our guide in achieving this victory. He's been defining this message for as long as I've listened to him. The fact we let this get away is what scares me. The shock and awe nonsense from the liberatarian right is dispicable and dishonest. What scares me about this is many folks like the bullshit and anarchy. Think about everything Trump has promised. It's all unconstitutional bullshit. Pretty much the same for the rest of the right wing clowns. Then you have the austerity nitwits like Paul Ryan. All of them claim the Obama presidency was a mistake. Disengenious bullshit. all lies. Intellectual dishonesty is their calling card. Joe has some coherent comments on strength and weakness between Hilary, who I really respect, and Bernie. I would suspect a Bernie Sanders administration with a Democratic Senate and Congress would be a Koch brothers, death of the oligarchy, nightmare. My regret for the Obama presidency, which I consider one of the best, is he didn't go for the jugular when he had the bully pulpit. He wanted politics to work the American way but all they wanted to do was act like a bunch of racist nitwits. The most telling thing about these so called Republicans is they won't do any public service, their friggin job, and they want to destroy our form of government. It's not a secret. Why anybody would vote for the Ted Cruz job performance is beyond me. He even looks like a slimy version of Lucifer.
