I'm suffering a little bit at this time: went for a surf down Maroubra beach: waves around 2 mtrs, and big bad me, latched onto one immediatley and was consequently dumped on my bloody shoulder: Stunned me for a moment until a bikini clad 20 something year old girl grabbed me and asked how I was.

You have high standards associated with character. I admire that in you. You and I have the following in common. We don't have a formal education. But for some folks "all the knowledge in the world is of no use to fools" The Eagles. So if the god, pretentious nonsense handle, tries to claim some authority based on education he's probably lying. Based on his disrespect for scholarship.

I came from astronomy sitting under the stars so relativity was unknow to me for my simple application, finding the Moon Sun and planets etc.
I often tried to work out what was in empty space. In time I was introduced to Relativity and to me it seems logical that if you have a math model to describe space and you realise time must be in there it seems so clear. I dont have a problem from the most simplistic level.
But brucep your comment re scholarship. I wait to see the list of degrees from tg anything will trump my drivers licence. And with out something better than a drivers licence will he see himself as one of those net educated folk.

 

Xel, I was always interested in the stars, astronomy, and anything spacey from when I was a kid> This is my third science forum, the first was lucky enough to have had a certified professional astronomer and a GR expert. That forum was excellent and run by the ABC [Australian Broadcasting Commision] and is now defunct.
I was a bit of a wild bugger when I was younger and only did two trade certs after the Intermediate certificate in 1959.
I started by reading and progressed from there: Books such as Thorne's Black Holes and Time Warps, and Martin Ree's [the astronomer royale] and Mitch Begalman's Gravity's Fatal Attraction.
I don't want to go into the god's credentials but he does not have any BS: in this discipline, a`100% certainty on that.
He is an obvious fraud, so enough said.
Don't put yourself down: You have shown in your short time here, that you are a better man in all respects, then this other current fraud.
There are many excellent links on the net, along of course with nonsense sites and pseudoscience claims.
I know at least two of our cranks are totally banned from other forums: that says it all.
Driver's license or not: PhD or not, a top education is not the be all and end all:
Mainstream accepted science is mainstream and accepted for one main reason: Because it makes the most logical reasonable sense to the majority.
Even among scientists themselves, all are trying to test SR/GR to their limits, and that continues to this day: It is in fact a cut throat business: Make a notable discovery, and next week, some young hopeful, is doing his best to find fault. But that is science and that is happening among the professionals. If and when change does happen, it will be among the professional ranks. The cranks, and would be's if they could be's, are not doing anyone any favours, other than inflating their own egos and illusions.
This is not the middle ages [as our resident nuts try and project] Science has finally thrown off the chains and shackles that bound it....I'm of course talking of the church and the control that they had completely over what to think and what to say:
Science, the scientific method, and appropriate peer review is not perfect...nothing is, but it is the best we have and has done us OK.....nutballs and cranks on science forums such as this, will never surpass or invalidate the accepted science applications.

He wants you to think he has the tools to better evaluate the physics than you but his performance demonstrates just the opposite. Regardless his education he has a serious issue with intellectual honesty which tends to trump ones ability to learn. You plus your drivers license trump his amagined superiority easily.

 

Leaving Certificate.
Could do leaving cert chemistry in primary school.
Topped 4 classes in general science 98.5% three days after breaking my nose in two places in a horrible weight lifting accident before our trial certificate........ And a gold licence.

 

I think I got too personal with few of you, especially in deriding...Off I keep such insults. Not worth it, painful at the end for both sides. Let me see how I manage to resist the provocation.

Find an empty piece of space billion of light years away from anything.
Select a cubic meter of this nothing and describe it to me.
GR is a coordinant system which must include time. I am suggesting you provide a simple geometric description of the cubic meter of nothing. I doubt if you will find that as simple as you think.
I only tied to help with simplisic explanations to help you see the beauty of how it works.

If you want to start out afresh [and I have serious doubts you do] then it is you who needs to reform in many areas.
