Which professions would die out in the future because of machines?

    What do you think which professions would become obsolete in next couple of years/decades, because of AI/machines? Factory workers, forklift drivers, people who stock shelves in supermarkets/stores come to mind first.

    No way! The oldest profession will never be replaced by machines, any more than food will be replaced by nutritional pellets. It's too human.

    Everybody but politicians and prositutes...the real question is how will people react to this very significant change? How will people manage human obsolesce? What will humans value when human labor is essentially worthless? What will that world look like? I imagine we will all want to govern ourselves so politicians will still be needed.

    I imagine all the manual laborers will be the first to go, then the intellectuals, and the last to go will be those jobs which require heavy human to human contact like counselors, salesmen, and customer service representatives. At first AI devices will likely become adjunct devices and will eventually dominate the professions in which they are used, replacing human labor.

    And I just cannot wrap my head around android prostitutes. I know they hold an allure for some folks. So there will be some of that no doubt. But frankly, I just don't get it. I don't see anything sexy about a machine no matter how you package it.
