Google and other search engines, looking for answers.., or at least comments on something a person or another robot has asked? BTW that is just a speculative guess!
To extend the question: How long before robots interacting with other robots are the more typical interaction here or at some other site? Also while here let me asks: Which post got the most "likes" and how many was that? I think I have seen a post with three likes, but bet some have more.
Robots usually means automated search engine web-crawlers which read pages for things like the google or Microsoft web caches (and also index them so that search engines can find them).
Those robots do little harm. It is the spamming robots that post in the threads, usually with link to the site selling some product or service, that need to be killed. When I was a mod, I killed more than one as an average each day.
