Is The Big Bang Just a Temporal Illusion?

    Actually, I accept the evidence for the big bang. I just wasn't crazy about the way the big bang was being presented. The Gavin Wince stuff is just interesting speculation.

    I read over your ISU model thread. I think it is very well thought out. It is very close to the model I have in mind as far as a steady state universe with constant big bangs and uniform physical laws. I agree with the way time progresses for the larger universe as a whole. The matter from big bangs would freely interact gravitationally with matter from other big bangs. I have a slightly different idea for what happens when big bangs come in contact, and what it is that triggers the big bangs. To maintain the entropy balance of the total universe, I believe that big bangs must emerge from cold vacuum areas, not hot pressure areas.

    The reason for this is that the accumulation of heavier elements over successive generations of stars leads to less and less material for thermonuclear reactions, and thus, the universe would wind down because of increasing entropy production. It would basically run out of fuel.

    Our expanding universe maximizes entropy. This is what we see happening around us in the observable universe. This affects causality, creating the arrow of time. The universe captures energy gradients to produce chaordic spongy structures composed of galaxies, etc., according to the maximum power principle. This is how complexity arises from simplicity.

    So how could the larger universe as a whole be steady state? There must be a cycle that can produce as much negative entropy as the universe produces positive entropy. And that is what big bangs are. They arise out of extreme vacuum conditions produced by various interactions between expanding big bangs. When the volume of one big bang expands into another one, the section of space where they overlap experiences super rapid expansion in both directions. This produces a massive vacuum pressure and temperature drop in space. Virtual particles instantly become real particles in such density that they immediately annihilate each other and a big bang is produced. This provides the basic elements for the thermonuclear processes of first generation stars and galaxies.

    Each big bang eventually uses up it's fuel. But new big bangs happen to maintain the total thermodynamic balance of the infinite, eternal universe.

    Granted. The trick is making it all hang together with internal consistency, and that at the same time addresses preconditions, mechanics of collapse/bang, an explanation for dark energy, a CMB that is always there from an infinite history of BBs and that has slight variations like the CMB dipole, etc.
    That is what I was thinking about when I saw the similarities between our ideas, as mentioned throughout the thread.
    These are the kinds of things I was talking about that have to be hashed out if models are to be reconciled. As we get into depth, step by step, at each step there are alternative speculations. It is quite unlikely that layman would always choose the same way, and so once the sequence of steps deviates, the differences between resulting models compounds.
    I follow that logic. I see the possibility that large portions of the galactic material in converging "parent" arenas being old cold, and dead, where entropy has progressed significantly.
    In a given arena, I consider it the decay of the hot dense ball of compressed wave energy that emerged from a Big Bang event. The ball of energy is the remnant wave energy of the matter and energy that entered the crunch from the contributing parent arenas in the form of particles and energy. It was compressed by gravity, forcing the particles to give up their individual space, collapsing into the hot ball of dense state energy, which immediately expanded (banged

    ) after the collapse. As the tiny ball of energy expanded and cooled, simple particles began to form, gravity at close quarters caused clumping, hydrogen stars formed, burned rapidly, and supernovae resulted, filling the arena with heavier nuclei, from which new second generation galaxies formed, and which hosted planets that could subsequently generate life :shrug:, so I say.
    More details to be hashed out, lol.
    That is exactly the way I would characterize the process of Arena Action that defeats entropy, and perpetuates the Big Bang arena landscape of the greater universe. Great post. My model does feature a concept of the average universal temperature, and the thermodynamics that take place to causes the fluctuations of the CMBR inside and surrounding arenas across the greater universe.

    I watched the first video in the series. It was interesting, but I have doubts that it is anything more than wild speculation. The whole, mass as a negative time value bugs me a bit. I will watch the rest as time permits. I dont know what his equation at the end was all about. Seemed like nonsense, but maybe i missed something?
