So...I would Honestly like to ask that you PLEASE provide Quotes or Links to the "Evidence" that either Isaac Asimov and/or : "one apparent supporter" ever actually expressed "his/there apparent ridiculous assumption that the Moon is not extending its orbital parameters.".

Sorry, paddoboy, I was going to Post this for you earlier - but I had N.D. demanding my attention...!!

Not sure if it is as "Reputable" as wiki or physicsforums, but it is something that I read near twenty years ago...
I believe that you said you were hoping to catch this man in Australia soon...

...the following is from Neil DeGrasse Tyson...
" Knowing the speed of light, one can compute the Moon's distance with unprecedented accuracy: with a twenty-five year baseline of measurements we know that the Moon is spiraling away from us at a rate of about two inches per year, just as predicted by tidal theory. Earth's rotation will continue to slow down, and the Moon will continue to spiral away until the Earth day exactly equals the lunar month. At that time, one Earth rotation will last over 1000 hours, which would require 4 million leap seconds per day. No need to panic just yet. You have over a trillion years to think about it."

OK dmoe, I'll play your game again, and give you the benefit of the doubt.......
    Asimov said..........
    14. Moon Diameter: How does one explain the "coincidence" that the moon is just the right distance, coupled with just the right diameter, to completely cover the sun during an eclipse? Again, Isaac Asimov responds,

"There is no astronomical reason why the moon and the sun should fit so well. It is the sheerest of coincidences, and only the Earth among all the planets is blessed in this fashion."
    at....
    http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/luna/esp_luna_16.htm

Now why would a scientist "insinuate" that the Moon and the Sun should fit so well, IF he had or has realised that the Moon is moving away.
He would realise that what we see is just by chance and nothing to do with any "right distance"
The distance is variable due to tidal gravity effects.
Hope that alleviates any confusion you have.

Like I said, 50 billion, a trillion or eternity, who's going to quibble.

It's predicted to head that way by the laws of gravity and physics.

And also above from dmoe's own link Asimov insinuating that the Moon is stationary. :sheesh:

Nice link dmoe, confirms most of what I have claimed and what is predicted to happen, despite the apparent spurious claims of Asimov.
