They're going through their hipster phase where they like things ironically.

I pushed the like button for a post in which one eulogized you to the level of Einstein.......another has just jumped in the fray.
I am deciphering a particular behavioural aspect on web forums, where mostly people are invisible and under pseudonym, even then why some people love to act as sycophants to someone unknown.

Maybe you should try to decipher why uneducated cranks come to science forums and try to push their particular brand of pseudoscience. It is a mystery to me why someone would spend so much time on a what is essentially meaningless fantasy at the expense of actually understanding nature.

    1. Science and inventions are certainly helped extensively by PhDs, they are the key and crucial guys....
    2. Science and inventions do come by from Mechanics in garage, their contribution is there, however small....
    3. There is extensive involvement of non PhDs, even amateur enthusiasts, in the growth of science and their contribution is well acknowledged..
    4. But science and inventions never come from people who call others cranks and find faults in others, incessantly.

This forum has few people who are in the category #4, and their provocation is causing unnecessary exchange of bad words......The Mods should look into how to curb this provocation from such people.....

Number two and part of number three (in my career and close collaboration with #1s) for me, Rajesh. Both of my sons (one a doctorate in physics, the other in mathematics) are #1, but only publish where it counts or where none but the privileged can ever read what they write.

If I ever believed I was number 4, I'd simply quit doing this. I don't wonder, a lot of #4s simply don't care; they have little to lose by being an irritant. They simply change their alias and move on when people get tired of them.

I've been wondering that very same thing for most of the 20+ years I've been involved in public science forums. The most + part happened pretty fast even though it required me to recognize what a crank was. It lasted slightly longer than the inflationary epic.
BTW my likes are from the head and heart. Not the orifice at the end of the food processing path.

Irony. What a concept. I tend to think it's somewhat deeper than trying to be cool.

Except as per usual you purposely are telling another lie....Something which you now do to some extent nearly every post. What I said>
bruce stands out as an Einstein when compared to your ignorance, stupidity, and pretentious self serving delusions.....and sensibly he has you on ignore as others do.
That comparison I stand by. In fact the same comparison could be made with many of the more reputable members we have here, including origin, OnlyMe, sweetpea, Kristoffer and obviously even others, when compared to yourself and your nonsense.
One of course could reverse the analogy and say that you in actual fact stand out as Donald Duck when compared to bruce and others.
Either way, both analogies fit the bill admirably.
In most cases they are essential
Although in any endeavour there are sometimes exceptions. In my time on three science forums, I have yet to see any exception.
All professions contribute to the greater good, even garbage removalists.
I respect all who deserve respect and despise those that are undeserving of it.
Probably true, although rarely, but do you have an example?
Again in my time at three science forums, I have never yet seen any alternative life changing, ground breaking revelation, initiated at and on a science forum, that has changed the world.
As usual in your efforts to convey a distorted picture, you have the bull by the tail. Science and inventions, particularly the astronomical/physics sciences, in near all cases, do come from the professionals with Phds, and the knowledge they possess, along with the myriad of state of the art equipment they have at their disposal. That along with their general willingness do be able to stand on the shoulders of giants of the present and past to achieve results.
Then of course we have the playground for the cranks, trolls, and those that suffer from delusions of grandeur, and "actually" see themselves as Einstein.

These playgrounds for those cranks and delusionals are obviously science forums such as this. The same cranks that blatantly refuse to heed any advice from real professionals, are unable to admit obvious errors of judgements, continually act dishonestly in posting in the wrong sections, and making unsupported accusations against those that reveal their agenda and refute their nonsense.
Such forums are the only outlet such annoying pests have, as they are quickly dismissed from the real halls of knowledge for the cranks that they are.
I certainly invite the mods to examine both sides here and actually see where the provocation is coming from. The following for example.......

See rajesh your problem here is yourself and your grossly over inflated ego in believing that you are the "Einstein" here and the rest of the world is wrong.
That coupled with your deceit and lies are the cause of the "bad words" you speak of.
Here are some facts for you rajesh...This is first and foremost a science forum. And as such any alternative ideas or claims put in any sections, will need to run the gauntlet. You obviously do not see your claims as necessitating in running the gauntlet probably due to your delusions and ego problem.
That's rather sad, because I can tell you that it will always be the case, no matter how you kick, scream, lie or misinterpret data.

Some more advice...When other alternative hypothesis pushers also start to disown you and some of your more nonsensical claims, its time you had a good look at yourself..

Are you discussing work, jobs, with somebody who feels they are above doing some tasks? Because they're to smart. LOL. Must be an engineer. Just spoofing, sort of.

Obviously we are discussing, or trying to discuss science with probably the most egotistical self gratuitous "would be if he could be" since Farsight and undefined were infesting our forum.
Electrical engineers deserve respect. rajesh fell short of achieving both I suggest.

Farsight's still around I think (don't say the name thrice though). He even managed to get his own page on rationalwiki.

I'm sure bruce has his heart in the right place when it comes to engineers.

I do. I worked with engineering during my entire career in the oil industry. On offshore projects when I worked for JRMcDermott Inc. as a oilfield construction diver and all the years in refining after that. I was involved in many projects due to my knowledge of refining units and process.

This is how the truth spills out !!

I acknowledge the contribution of mechanics and divers in the respective field, even of giving relevant feedback for the larger good of humanity, but if a mechanic starts equating a diver to Einstein, then it becomes hilarious that too when so called Einsteinian diver has nothing to offer in 20 years of web surfing.....No wonder he is averse (or jealous?) to engineers, his Bosses !!

Disclaimer : All professions are respectable. This is no comment on the mechanics and divers expertise in their work area, they are indispensable.

PS : Should I be here on this forum, where people lacking in formal education are preaching others about relativity and others who show some thinking and ideas are termed as cranks ? Nah !! Bye Bye Science Forum....My best wishes to admins and Mods, You guys need to create a mechanism by which you can project certain people having authoritative knowledge (or tighter moderation)......then may be I will reconsider my decision to be back.

I'm ignoring the first part of your post, [highlighted in the closest to yellow I can do and be readable] as again you are lying and ignoring what was said.
Quite ironic that you can stand/sit there and have the audacity to mention truth.
Your total misuse of the truth is why you are so unpopular here my friend.

    On the other......
The professionals have in general refuted most of what you have said...The E-Mails from myself and tashja attest to that fact.
And speaking of the members lacking formal education as you put it, you are one of them yourself...so another example of pot, kettle and black? Typical

And don't consider about coming back too hard. You may fry what little brains you have. Good riddance I say to your leaving....but as these forums are the only outlet you have, I will believe that when I see it.
And yes, most here do agree with your assessment of tighter moderation.
And more than likely you would be feeling that more than most.

    Using the equations in

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tolman–Oppenheimer–Volkoff_equation

It becomes clear that the gravitational field of a spherical mass concentration depends on the relativistic energy and momentum of its components.

The gravitational mass of the concentration may appear to be less than the sum of the inertial mass of the components depending on the details of how measurement is performed and the equation of state used.
