Unicorn Sighting Reported In Don Valley
Amateur video depicting what could be one of the most elusive legendary creatures, the unicorn, has been captured on film by a Toronto resident. The video in question, shot by a local birdwatcher, Peter Hickey-Jones, shows what appears to be a white horse with a single horn on its head emerging from the trees in the Don Valley wetland.

Hickey-Jones brought the footage to the Ontario Science Centre to be analyzed by experts. The Science Centre is reviewing the footage frame-by-frame to determine whether Hickey-Jones’ claim is legitimate. With closer examination, Science Centre staff is hoping to establish whether or not a genuine unicorn sighting has occurred.

In the meantime, the Science Centre is asking the public to use caution if they think they see a unicorn. Do not make any sudden movements or attempt to use flash photography. Although legends of unicorns state that they are peaceful creatures, scientists worry that they may harm themselves or others if they end up on a road or highway.

“I was trying to film a pileated woodpecker when I saw what looked like a bright white horse in the distance. When I got a little closer, I noticed the horn on its head. I’m not one to jump to conclusions but I’m certain beyond the shadow of a doubt that what I saw was a unicorn. I’m just glad I got it on film.”

Pioneers reported seeing Bigfoot as early as the 1830's. They called him the Wildman back then. Note the description is the same as usual. Another compelling case for the existence of this extraordinary creature:

"...As they pushed their settlements deep into
the woods and their hunts even deeper, the
early frontier people of the South often ran up
against mysteries that defied explanation.
One of the most bizarre involved a series of
events surrounding a creature called the
"Wild Man" by newspapers of the 1840s.

The earliest known recorded sightings took
place in February and March of 1846 in the
Crowley's Ridge area of eastern Arkansas.

Stories about the creatures appearance were
carried in newspapers across the nation,
with the Baltimore Sun reporting on March
13, 1846, that "his track measures 22 inches,
his toes are as long as a common man's
fingers, and in height and make, he is double
the usual size."

Other reports followed, with a second surge
of news coverage taking place in 1851. The
New Hampshire Patriot and State Gazette
reported on May 29th of that year that an
expedition was about to leave Memphis to
hunt for "the wild man." The monster was
said to be "of gigantic size and covered with
hair."

The same newspaper followed with a page
one account on June 5th, quoting the
Memphis Enquirer as its source for a report
that the Wild Man had been seen chasing a
herd of cattle:...He was of gigantic stature, the body being
covered with hair, and the head with long
locks that fairly enveloped his neck and
shoulders. - The "wild man" after looking at
them deliberately for a short time, turned and
ran away with great speed, leaping from 12 to
14 feet at a time.The Enquirer account noted that the monster
had been seen in St. Francis, Greene and
Poinsett Counties for 17 years, a statement
that indicates that now lost reports may have
been made as early as 1834...."

And unless you're being serious with that remark, that you now think they are real, you are guilty of double-standards: such evidence is sufficient and compelling when it suits you, but not when it doesn't.
Your belief system in this regard is nothing to do with evidence, or testimony, or with science or even with rationality, but with what you have already preconceived. You simply give credence to that which supports your preconception and laugh off that which does not.
If you apply a standard to support the existence of one thing then to avoid being hypocritical you should apply that same standard to all other things, and claim all things that satisfy that standard as existing.
You don't do this, though.

Many Native American tribes have stories and legends about the creature known as Bigfoot. It is generally regarded as a physical being that is part of their culture and spirituality, and usually seen as a benevolent protector of the forest. Here's another account from the 1800s involving rather horrible results. Such violent encounters are rare though:

"In the late 1890s near the Chetco River in southern Oregon, a dozen loggers and their families encountered a great beast with disastrous results. Camping in tents by the river, the lumber men would awaken each morning to find their freshly cut timber, logs which required three men to move, carelessly scattered about like matchsticks. Huge human footprints left in the damp earth were the only clues. Since they had been having trouble with bears, the men followed the footprints through the torn shrubbery and uprooted saplings until they disappeared.

That night, the loggers were awakened by shrill screams of something not quite human in the near underbrush. Seizing a rifle, one man lit a torch and headed into the darkness. He was quickly followed by several other men. In a very short time, the first man rushed back to collapse in terror at the feet of his tracking companions. He babbled incoherently about a hairy monster eight feet tall with yellow eyes, fangs, and hands like a man. His description put the camp in an uproar.

The next night, two men decided to track and kill the hairy intruder. They carried a small lantern and loaded rifles and disappeared into the darkness behind the tents. Back in camp, their friends heard screams and shrieks and the sounds of gunfire. Then...silence.

When the two men did not reappear, the other loggers grabbed lanterns and torches and, while firing their guns into the air, set out in search of their comrades. A half mile from camp, they found the scene of a desperate struggle. Broken and bleeding, arms and legs ripped from the torsos, their two friends lay scattered all over the place. They had been slammed against trees and torn into pieces by something with incredible strength. Blood dripped into small pools from branches high in the trees, as well as from the crushed greenery of the surrounding shrubs. But of the hairy creature responsible, there were only bloody footprints leading deep into the woods.

The loggers struck camp and left the area the next day. Professional hunters entered the forest in the days that followed, but found no sign of the creature."

Obviously the were attacked by "Predator" aliens and not bigfoot.

 

Incredible strength indeed...

Here's a quick and dirty example:

Take a chicken wing, a whole wing. Now, grab it by either end and pull - try to pull it apart (it has two joints in it, an upper and a lower - essentially you are going for removing the upper joint from the fore-wing)

It will take you a fair bit of effort (and probably some twisting) to get it apart.

This is a CHICKEN WING; not only is it much smaller than a person (and with less connective tissue), but it is also dead tissue.

Scale this up to a human being... and, well...

So... if four HORSES were incapable of separating the legs and arms from the torso without the joints being cut, you can imagine the kind of strength it would take to do this.

Simply put, it is biologically IMPOSSIBLE for any humanesque creature to tear the limbs off in such a fashion. With sufficient twisting, or a method of cutting the connective tissue then perhaps it would be possible.

 

This is prospector Albert Ostman's story which happened in 1924 in British Columbia near Toba Inlet. It relates a tale of being abducted and taken to a camp of Bigfoot. Truly an amazing account..

"Albert Ostman (died 1975) was a Canadian prospector who reported that he was abducted by a Sasquatch and held captive for six days.[2] He stated that the event took place near Toba Inlet, British Columbia in 1924.[3]On August 20, 1957, police magistrate A.M. Naismith wrote an affidavit which states "...I found Mr. Ostman to be a man of sixty-four years of age; in full possession of his mental faculties. Of pleasant manner and with a good sense of humor. I questioned Mr. Ostman thoroughly in reference to the story given by Mr. Green. I cross-examined him and used every means to endeavor to find a flaw in either his personality or his story, but could find neither..."[4][5] Albert Ostman also signed a Solemn Declaration indicating that his account of the Sasquatch story was true under oath and by virtue of the Canadian Evidence Act...

The story

...In 1924, Albert Ostman went to the area.[7] As Ostman lay asleep one evening a Sasquatch purportedly picked him up and carried him off while he was in his sleeping bag.[8] Ostman was carried in his sleeping bag across country for 3 hours by the Sasquatch.[9] The Sasquatch dropped Ostman down on a plateau. Standing around him was a family of 4 of the creatures.[10] Albert was kept captive by the Sasquatch.[11] The captors were 3 adults and a child which held Ostman captive for six days.[12] One of the Bigfoots was reported as being 8 feet tall.[13]Ostman did not use his gun on them as they had done him no harm.[14] He stayed with the Bigfoot family for a week.[15] Ostman ate "sweet tasting grass" that they gave him.[16] According to Ostman the female Sasquatch washed and stacked leaves.[17] Albert escaped by making the large male Sasquatch groggy by feeding him somesnuff.[18] He did not tell his story for more than 24 years after it happened for fear of being thought of as crazy.[19][20] As more Sasquatch stories appeared in the press Albert decided to tell his story to a local newspaper in 1957."

Does he ever have physical evidence? He doesn't even have the guts to own up to the simple biological facts he has been presented with...
