Was Satan wrong to demand equal rights in heaven?

Heaven, from what we can speculate, seems to be a system that some would call a tyranny as no one was allowed to question anything or ask for change in leadership or policies.

Was Satan and the third of angels who rejected tyranny wrong to demand equal rights, and if so, are all people who demand equal rights on earth also doing something satanic?

Is this why most religions are reluctant to give women and gays equality? Do Christians and Muslims think equality to be evil and satanic?

Do religious people think that their Gods frown on the notions of equality of all people and is that why believers deny women and gays equality?

    Definetely a tyranny.

Satan was indeed correct when he chose "freedom", but only when it us humans doing the thinking. When you're referring to god, oh my my, he/she/it can't be understood! Tyranny doesn't apply to god!

    /sarcasm off

Yes of course, it is a great way to force people to behave accordingly. In every religion you've got something which will make people think twice before leaving or refuting anything. That is how religion works unfortunately.

Indeed but the carrot stick mentality is mostly all the ancients knew. We know better today yet the churches and mosques are stuck in old thinking and slowing down our progress to civilization.

They are still in the Dark Age of thought.

Definetely. They would rather prefer humanity going back to the dark ages than moving forward intellectually, which is what is happening in real time. Religion will eventually subside. My kids, your kids, everyone else's kids will have way more access to information and religion will stop being needed. That is what I believe will happen.

Religions, as they exist today, I agree.

A church to appease our natural desires of fellowship will not. I think that that is why atheists are starting up their own churches. They recognize that most of us are sheep and sheep need the fellowship of the herd.

I tend to agree and promote that atheists continue to open such churches.

To see why Satan would have chosen her view of right, we have to look at if God's was 's ways are good or evil.

Scriptures show that God often tortures and kills innocent babies and children.

If the good people can justify that then Satan would have been wrong and evil.

Since good people cannot justify such immoral torture and killing, I would say that God is the most evil between Satan and himself and Satan was justified in trying to oust such an evil prick of a God.

The perfect question. I too would like to see a good argument showing that.

I wouldn't want an atheist church, that would defeat the whole purpose of atheism.

Because heaven is described as a hierarchical system. So within that context, it would have been wrong to ask for equal rights i.e against the accepted norms of right and wrong in the place in question at the time in question.

What is the purpose of atheism and does being an atheist destroy our instinct to form groups and tribes?

Remember that at their roots, all religions are are tribal groups.

The accepted norm in the U.S was slavery at one time.

Should slaves not have asked or been granted equality?

As we should do today with out homophobic and misogynistic religions.

They are outdated and no longer serve us well.

The comparison is not valid. Slaves did not enter into the slavery willingly, they did not aquiese to their slavery. They were taken by force.

Satan (lucifer at the time) was a willing participant in heaven. In fact god's chief angel no less. My reasoning still stands.

If you want a comparison. it is like the manager of the plantation demanding equal rights with the owner of the plantation. And again, yes he would be wrong to demand that.

How can we discuss something that doesn't exist, never been seen and it isn't there? Satan is just another boogie man humans made up long ago, isn't it about time to give up on this type of nonsense.
