Looks like bad news to me. Fewer people shot and killed = good; more people shot and killed = bad.

Just reading that link's comment section.
Alex needs to spend some of the money he makes on snake oil moderating those comments.
If he doesn't want the state to step in with regulation of the internet, he needs to self regulate.
His site is a disgrace due to the scum he allows to post comments.
There are some evil people out there.

People weep for their own children and rejoice when their enemy's children are killed.
Not one of the best sides of human nature.

A sentiment praised in the Bible, incidentally:

good jon on finding sources with such sterling reputations for being impartial and unbiased. you cannot use what people say in anger and frustration as being completely representative of their views. also do you really expect an abused population to give two shits about their abusers. maybe if the cops in fergason did their fucking jobs properly they wouldn't be hated.

Oh, I think people care. But they are not protesting in the streets and burning down the neighborhood as they did when Officer Wilson shot and killed Brown. The people who burnt down buildings during the Brown riots probably are probably happy with the shooting of police officers in Ferguson. And the guy who said, "let's burn the . . . place down" prior to the riots is probably happy. But they aren't most people.

I hate cops as much as the next unrepentant old hippie. Nonetheless, this unrepentant old hippie still dreams of a world of peace. We'll never create one if we rationalize and excuse the killing of people we don't like, whether they're cops or child murderers or Muslims.

Front Page Magazine.... What the hell kind of crap are you into, dude?

Violence begets violence. Which is why violence is bad and people do care if people are shot at and/or killed, regardless of what they do for a living.

The first two I can take, but Glenn Beck ??????
Although, the man earns $2o Million a year, the combined salary of 30 or 40 surgeons.
The USA is truly the land of opportunity for opinionated bigots.

I have a feeling, or at least a hope, that the Alex Jones site comments are the work of a single troll with numerous identities. Surely there can't be that number of knuckle dragging sickos out there.

    'Twixt Statute and Justice

How many times can I point to the difference 'twixt statute and justice?

    Editorial animator Mark Fiore↱ explains:

Now that the Department of Justice report on Ferguson has been released, the veil has been lifted on a corrupt system that bled that town’s African-American citizens of their income, rights and freedom. Ferguson’s Municipal Court had become a criminal enterprise bent on increasing revenue by bleeding citizens dry.

The racist jokes and comments forwarded by city officials are the tip of the iceberg in this DOJ report. Though that sort of racism is abhorrent, extorting money under threat of additional fees, fines and jail time is what really boggles my mind. Funny how problems arise when you’ve got a judge who is also a prosecutor and defense attorney, all at the same time. (Not to mention the assorted co-conspirators who seem to be straight out of Idiot Racist Central Casting.)

Sure, Ferguson is a mess, but what is particularly tragic is that a system of debtors’ prisons festers nationwide. And while not every city or town robs citizens at the barrel of a (police) gun, racial disparities in the criminal justice system provide fertile ground for the abuses seen in Ferguson.

    Statute and justice, friends.

(No, really, there's even a cartoon. That moves. And talks.)

Try shooting the policemen when they are unarmed, leaving their bodies in the streets for hours, tampering with the evidence involved, holding a grand jury hearing rigged to let the killer off without indictment, and then refusing to hold a trial.

You might get some protest, then.

LOL, oh yeah, except you have absolutely no evidence, much less reason, to support your allegations of evidence tampering or of a rigged grand jury. But then evidence and reason were never your fortes. The Brown shooting was investigated by the federal government which found Officer Wilson acted reasonably when he shot and killed Brown. As the federal investigation found, they physical evidence and witness testimony validate Officer Wilson's decision to use lethal force. There was nothing reasonable or lawful about the shooting of the two police officers.

    No, they didn't.

And if they treat these cop shooters with the same disregard for the significance of their behavior as they treated Wilson, there will be protests in the streets.

Oh, then I suggest you read the report. I have referenced the document in this thread several times. The Attorney General's report was very explicit in that regard. Denial isn't a river in Egypt Ice. The fact is evidence and reason just doesn't support your beliefs Ice. You are the black knight in Monty Python's "Holy Grail".

The Washington Post reportage is built on lies.

Only one witness denied that Brown ever raised his hands. Every other witness stipulated that Brown raised his hands at some point for some length of time while facing Wilson (some said "briefly" or not very high or otherwise qualified the description), or that they couldn't say, and none of these witnesses definitely denied that Wilson shot at Brown while his hands were raised or sort of raised or whatever they saw.

The timing of Wilson's shots, relative to Brown's actions including dropping his hands, remains confused - the witness testimonies conflict, with each other and with Wilson's and with the physical evidence; Wilson's testimony conflicts with some of the witnesses and with the physical evidence; the physical evidence conflicts with Wilson's testimony and some of the witnesses.

We think it's clear that the last three shots, including the penultimate and kill shots that hit him, were taken at Brown while his hands were down and he was moving toward Wilson from not far away (falling forward or very slowly "charging", take your pick). Otherwise, it's anybody's guess who's least confused in the matter.

Not the readers of the Washington Post, for sure.

The only thing that remains confused Ice is that stuff between your ears. The forensic findings, the credible "witnesses" (i.e. not the racist or Brown's compadres in crime) and the DOJ report are very clear and none of them comport with your beliefs.
