james, you forgot an option. nothing in your list describes how i feel about "god" OR religion. i've selected the only option that comes closet, but i would have worded it differently.
If 10 options aren't enough I'd say that you are actually an atheist Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
There's a 10 option maximum for polls now, apparently. Besides, the first 5 options are the ones that really matter for this poll. They cover all the bases. So options 1-4 don't cover all the bases? Well, luckily you can post in the thread and explain exactly what your position is, if you like.
i'm not sure what i believe. for something that doesn't exist, he sure does stick his big fat ass in everything we do. OTOH, people equate strange things with the mysterious, and you can't get any stranger than life and the universe. life, the racist of physical science, the true alien.
Okay, you believe in many gods, are these spread out throughout the universe? Do they live on different planets? Have they got ships? Do you believe there is still one God above all else? In your belief do some, or maybe all humans have a godlike spirit? Thanks.
There was one major option that was not listed - "I do not believe in gods and am not spiritual." Atheism is technically "against theism", and says nothing about the spiritual aspects of religions/beliefs. Most atheists I have seen here tend to reject both the god and spiritual concepts, but some hold a spiritual view. There does not seem to be a suitable label for someone who is both atheist and non spiritual.
How about your own god. Where does he live, how does he get about? Why is he the only god, and does he feel lonely? Were there really many gods and your god killed them off? What's his purpose in existing? Why does he exist?
I believe in God and always have. however not in the sense that either of the religions portrays God.
I guess "not spiritual" sums up the people you're talking about, but then again not everyone needs a label. My brother has no interest at all in spiritual matters, he's simply an over qualified postman with a astrophysics background.
He decides where He lives, but essentially God simply exists. There are many alien races, all seeded from Earth. They are obviously millions and in some cases billions years ahead of us, more advanced, more fine tuned. In the past(a lot of evidence), and even now, some of these aliens were/are worshiped as gods. That's some ideas for you, but I guess you won't entertain them. As for the questions I didn't answer, well I suppose my first answer answers those.
I'm guessing all of the gods of Hapsburg simply exist as well. All life is seeded from Earth and some are billions of years ahead of us and more advanced. How does that work...being seeded from Earth and yet more advanced?
UPG covers a very broad array of things. The most personal are often hard to describe in words. It's an ineffable feeling, most of the time. Sometimes there are visions or images, especially in a trance-like state. But usually it's a feeling while in a certain context or situation. Other times, it's been literally conversing with a spirit or god. They're not physical beings. So the things you mention make no sense. They don't take up physical space, they don't require means to transport themselves across space, they don't "live" in a physical location like you and I do. They are not bound by the physical world. Not in the sense you're probably meaning. Zeus rules over all the other gods, and can defy most restrictions that even the gods normally comply with. But even he can't fully escape fate or prophecy, or breach a sacred oath. No god is omnipotent. Godlike, no. All living things have a spirit, but it's commensurate to what they are.
No. They simply live. How much have we learned in the last 100 years? Add that to millions of years. Imagine.
My point was how can they have been seeded from Earth and be more advanced than us or older than the Earth? What make you think anyone was seeded from Earth?
No, not older than the earth! Older than us, the men of old, the men of renown. are the oldest. EDIT: There is zero evidence of other planets being able to create intelligent life.
There is, at present, zero evidence of life anywhere else however if it can occur here it should be able to occur elsewhere and most likely does.
We can't create "life" in a lab full of geniuses, what chance is there for a proven planet like ours?
what if . . . what if the seemingly intelligent behavior of single cells is somehow equated to dark energy? the missing link in the grand unification theory?
